I just got back from an 8-hour round trip from SE Michigan to Northern Michigan and the "Keep Your Hands on the Wheel" went off constantly. It really did start getting annoying. I like the LKA, so I don't want to turn it off completely. I think I just have to turn down the sensitivity.

I will be keeping me smart phone, but one of the best things I have done was ditch my smart watch for a regular automatic watch.
Stress levels dropped so much without constant alerts on my wrist.
I too am seriously considering doing the same.

The only notifications I need in life are:
  1. If a family member, friend, or business associate calls with something important
  2. If someone rings my doorbell and they aren't a solicitor
That's it. All other notifications should remain silent and hidden in whatever poorly-programmed app they came from. I'll hunt them down on my time if I feel like I really need to see them, just like I walk to my mailbox when I feel like it. Everyone has been brainwashed into thinking notifications are helpful and necessary, but they aren't. I'm glad to see people waking up and realizing this.

I'll raise your Lane-Keeping system nanny annoyance, with the text message notification chime.
If you're referring to the ones that comes through the system, that can be disabled.

I believe you can turn off the alert, so it just pushes you back into the lane. In settings on the center screen. It can be assist+alert, assist, or alert. Haven't messed with ours since I changed it to assist only.

I prefer the old-fashioned, analog anti-drowsy driver alert the state installed. You know, the corrugated strip at the edge of the breakdown lane, "thumpa-thumpa-thumpa-thumpa-thumpa...."
Some places aren't putting that on the side of the road anymore. Cost savings.

It's not the LKA issue that flashes when you wander to close to either side that is annoying. It's when you're on a straight flat road and you are pretty much not having to move the steering wheel when you get the alert to keep your hands on the wheel.

The system isn't detecting any movement in the steering wheel, so it thinks you're going hands free. You have to jiggle the steering wheel so it knows that you actually have your hand on the wheel.

Oh, come on, isn't the most annoying Bronco alert the ones that comes from the passenger seat, "Honey can you get ANY closer to that guy. I don't think you can tell what's playing on his radio." Among others...

Most annoying alert?
DOUBLE HONK!!!
Get rid of that BS!!!
You gotta get ForScan. It's a simple 'plain text' setting on there. One of the first things I got rid of.

I've been considering one of those laptop screen protectors that hide the screen from any angle but straight on for this very purpose!

I’m starting to think these issues might be contagious via the forums. 😆

7,000+ miles and never saw this alert until I responded to this thread earlier. Then on my road trip back from SC, sure enough. It happened.

I actually like the LKA feature that shakes the steering wheel. Really helpful on long boring straight stretches when the mind wanders. But my MY25 LKA doesn’t do it like the MY23 did; the dashboard icon lights up but no other response. I have tested it on every possible combination of roads and lane markers. Yes, the dashboard preferences are properly set. Dealer has had it for a combined 24 days and hasn’t fixed it yet, he hasn’t fixed several other issues either so no surprise. Getting ready to put Ford on a 6-day alert toward a 30 day lemon law action.

My Big Bend purposely has none of the extras, and is stripped to the bone, but still gets annoying. It doesn't seem to understand that I KNOW I don't have seat belts fastened, and purposely increases the level of annoyance to absurdity. I once got a message that popped, in Sport mode (where I spend most of the time) when I applied the brakes: "Reducing power because brake was pressed." It's as if the software developer created a troubleshooting alert and forgot to comment it out.
