People in jeep liberties tailgating me.
I don't get it.
I dont really care, but it does annoy me.
You don't see people in Wranglers doing it, it's just the tiny jeeps. Maybe they have a "small issue", I dont really know

The 10-speed automatic transmission. I hate this transmission: It is ALWAYS shifting. There are so many scenarios where this thing ticks me off, but the common one is where the guy in front of me at a roundabout hesitates (for no good reason) forcing me to let off the gas for a split second. Then, when I push the pedal back down nothing happens because the transmission is in the middle of downshifting. It creates a potentially dangerous situation where for a second or so, you can't move. I thought I was triggering a crash avoidance system the first few times this happened. Anyway, I don't care what anyone says, this thing has too many gears. It's counter-productive and it tripping over itself. Not to mention, you won't convince me that a transmission that has to shift two or three times as often as say a four speed auto, is going to wear out that much faster. I've always been a manual transmission guy, but I've owned plenty of automatics and none of them have bother me the way this one does.
Anybody making automatic transmissions should be forced to study and experience the ZF8 in depth. The best automatic transmission I've had by leaps and bounds.

I didn't realize how much the 10R80 in my F150 sucks until I bought my JL....

I don’t have a problem with the bronco 10 speed but, yeah the ZF8 in my Alfa Romeo Giulia was fantastic…

Drive it in sport mode. It cuts down on the gear hunting dramatically. Between the smushy throtte response and the gear hunting, I don't see how anyone can drive one of these in normal mode.

I'm a MT guy too. This V6 with some aftermarket work, a tune and an MT would be a pretty nice ride overall.

Sport mode. 2wd. Problem (mostly) solved.

Not talking major problems – just the stuff that slowly gets under your skin over time.

Could be:
  • windshield chips
  • Interior rattles
  • Road noise
  • Something random you didn’t expect
Curious what’s been the most annoying “little thing” for you so far.
Coming from a 2 -door Wrangler JL, the only thing I miss is the back seats in the Wrangler being very easy to pop in and out. The Bronco seems to require surgery to remove these back seats, and putting them back seems to be more work also.

Even in the 7 speed manual, putting it in sport mode made the shifting between 1st and 2nd smoother compared to the Eco mode. I had driven it in Eco mode since I bought it, since that's what it was set on. Tried sport mode this week and there was a noticeable improvement.

Well I had the same issue with windshields on my FJ Cruiser - 3 in 18 years so not as often. So I just carry glass insurance which has paid for each of the windshields.

What I find interesting is that my Bronco has had four windshields, and my wife's has none. She's the tailgator. Mine have broke under weird circumstances. Like on a really cold day. Pull out of the cabin and BAM huge crack down the middle of the windshield. I had another one break driving down the a deserted road with no other traffic around.
I have had two passenger side windows literally blow up on me. The first was in Africa on a hot day. i actually thought someone had taken a potshot at me. The second was on my F 250 about 4 years ago. Well below zero and the window had just exploded overnight. In both cases the glass all fell straight down. Researching it I find it not uncommon in heat extremes if therre is a nick or small crack.

Definitely the issue where every time I use the "universal windows" function by putting them down with the remote, the back-right window won't go back up until I recalibrate it.

I want to upgrade my window controls to manual, to match the transmission.

Both my previous 4x4s (39 years combined) had manual transmissions, windows, and door locks.

The Camry I inherited from my father had power door locks. They began draining the battery when the car was around 12 years old, but it would have cost 10% of the value of the car to replace them. We just disconnected them instead. Simple is good!

I know this is being picky, but having the window controls in the center console. Muscle memory always has me reaching on the door. I thought it was interesting but can’t figure out why they did it. If the doors are off you don’t have any windows to control so why not just keep them on the door?

Which one are you using? My wife and I both have windshields that didn't make it home. Mine's too late, it cracked in two places. Hers is still the chip.
