Did you purchase this Bronco in Canada? Just spit balling here @babyblue81 but could this be a Canada vs United States manufacturing set up in the module or wiring harness? Some obscure Canadian law barring/restricting DIY work on your truck?

@BlackMagicMojo I forgot to mention I live in Canada and this new bronco was bought in Canada.

The signature headlights I bought are from a ‘23 heritage model that was just down the road from me.

It’s like it’s a glitch in the matrix or something.

Starting in 2024, Ford made a change to how the highbeams work compared to earlier Bronco's.
The older models had them turn on and off immediately...
My 2026 has the highbeams turn on and off 'theater' style...they gently brighten and dim when coming on and off.
Maybe related?
I sold my 2024 sign lighting headlights to someone else, and they worked fine for the guy, but I have no idea what MY his Bronco was.

@TLO maybe you’re on to something. These headlights are just sitting in the dust. Makes me so sad. Wondering if I buy form headlights aftermarket if they will work. Spend $1800 for them just to find out they don’t work.

I guess I’ll keep my oem ones for now but dang.

@babyblue81 I can verify that the Form signature headlights worked in my previous 2022 Black Diamond with halogens. Easy plug and play swap with the option to run white or amber halos by plugging or unplugging the pig tail. Very bright, high quality, 3-5 year warranty with a poly carbonate coating. You could probably off load those signature headlights on eBay. Just my thoughts.

You'll probably not be happy with the quality of the Forms. Look awesome, but....
Lots of failures with them.

On second thought...my Forms worked fine on my 2024...so whatever these new headlights are doing, it must be in the headlights themselves and not the Bronco controlling this HighBeam function.

@chrisdupe thanks man. At least I know the 25’s will work. Love to hear if anyone has done this for a ‘26 yet.

So weird. Like these should work.
Edit: TRON has not been added to the full-size Bronco yet......nothing I wrote below is applicable in this case.

The problem is TRON. Ford introduced TRON to these cars in 2025 I believe and the 2023 models did not have it. The HCM is on the TRON network, so there is no way to program the 2023 lights into it. It would have to be from a 2025 and up. The diagram below shows all the modules with TRON encryption.

Ford Bronco 2026 swap to signature headlights not working. 1775849131591-rk

Edit: It just occured to me that not everyone may know what TRON is. I googled the verbiage below. I am not a software engineer by any stretch, but basically, it is Ford locking down certain things so that third party vendors can't get into certain systems. Say goodbye to aftermarket headlight options on the newer vehicles:

TRON stands for Trusted Real-Time Operation Nework in Ford modules, a security authentication procedure used during module replacement or programming, particularly via the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). It ensures the new module is authorized to communicate securely with the vehicle's network, often required for headlight modules, gateway modules, or camera systems (IPMA).
Key Aspects of TRON in Ford Modules:

  • Security Authentication: It acts as a backend server check, ensuring that newly installed modules are genuine and authorized, preventing unauthorized software from operating on the vehicle's network.
  • Common Use Cases: TRON is typically required when replacing LH headlights/modules, diagnosing a lack of high beams, resolving DRL LED issues, or updating the Image Processing Module A (IPMA).
  • FDRS Requirement: Technicians must run the "TRON Module Authentication" app within the FDRS software to finalize installation.
  • Troubleshooting: Problems with TRON often appear as "Can't reach TRON" or "Unable to reach TRON backend service" errors, often arising after installing new gateway modules.
When this fails, it indicates that the module is not communicating with Ford's secure servers, rendering it unable to properly synchronize with the vehicle.

Full size Broncos don’t have TRON yet, only sports.

Really? In that case, throw that theory out the window. :ROFLMAO:
Yeah. I’m honestly surprised they still don’t either 🤷‍♂️
Not sure what they’re waiting for.

Owners should consider themselves lucky. TRON is a huge PITA to deal with if you like to tinker with your vehicle.

Not true. My MY'23 OBX has the signature lights. I only use the Automatic setting, but when the highbeams are activated, they gradually brighten like you describe.

Yeah, I could be off on the year...my 2021 definitely didn't do that
