What is the dumbest thing you have done in your Bronco?

Mine was yesterday. My excuse is I was tired and hadn't eaten anything all day but still....

Got into my Bronco (first drive of the day in the afternoon). Started it. Waited for the revs to drop. It would not go into gear. The shift release button was stuck/woudn't push in. Shut it down, restarted - no difference.
So I sit there and think - great, broken down w only 2300 miles on it. How am I going to deal with getting this fixed?
Then I put my foot on the brake and...... yeah what a dumba$$!

I don't have any excuse. Yeah I was tired, hungry, my previous and existing other rides are manual transmission.
So what? The saving grace is I did not call for a tow before figuring it out :)

Now don't tell anyone about this, this is just between us. So what is the dumbest ish you've done?

That’s ok. I’m in the broadband industry. Stayed at a condo for vacation and TV would not turn on. Called maintenance. It was unplugged. We’ve all done something stupid. But in your Bronco??? That’s bad.

Dumbest thing.

First time I took my bronco on a trail and put it in 4Lo, I couldn't figure out why I wasn't going anywhere. Apparently that happens if you leave it in neutral 🤦‍♂️ 😅

Almost dumbest thing for me was....

First time I used my DIY hoist to take top off the hardtop, I forgot to disconnect the wiper connectors and almost ripped them off. Was going slow and couldn't figure out why the top was still coming with me as I pulled forward. Hopped out to see what it was hung up on and saw the wires were still attached.

I know it's not exactly what you meant, but for me it's probably buying a 2 door and then having 3 kids 😅

(In my defense I had 0 when I ordered it lol)
So, you, and presumably someone else, did a dumb thing in your Bronco three times?

Mostly trail damage. Tight turn around a corner where a tree root stuck out like a knuckle and dented both passenger doors.

Broken steering rack.

Added a custom extension for the arb manifold that was coming off a 2.7 engine bay mounting plate. The extension was about an inch from the wiring for the diverter valve. Apparently things vibrate enough to where an inch isn't enough clearance. Chaffed through the wire and caused all sort of problems.

Parked between two really tight trees on a trail. When I backed out my driver wheel climbed a log quicker than my passenger wheel which tilted me slightly. Just as my passenger mirror was sneaking passed the tree. Tore off the mirror.

Lets see...

Got some pretty good gouging on my driveshaft +a chunk ripped out of the diff cover. But that was more me being in a tough trail spot without diff armor.

I'm sure there are others I'm blanking on

I've tried to exhaust all my stupidity with previous vehicles. But you never can tell.

I dropped a tire off the road at Cades Cove yesterday while laughing at a Gladiator that had mirrors off an old Ford or Peterbuilt on it

In all seriousness I broke a tail light the first snow we got the year I bought mine and decided to take it in the woods to climb a hill.
I didn’t realize there was a quarter inch of ice under the snow 😅

Last fall, enjoying a topless fall drive, decided to explore an unknown road that disappeared into the woods... It quickly turned to gravel/dirt.....it was very dry.... I had no top..... I kept going.... Spent the rest of the weekend cleaning the interior. Stupidity lesson learned. 🤠
