Lol balding KO2s is so real on any 4x4. The first layer of tread is soft and works well in the wet and snow and that wears pretty quick. Once that's gone the remainder of the tread is rock hard so people run it for years and years, regardless of whether the tire should be aged out. Hell, I still see people post pictures and people driving on KOs on the street, and those haven't been produced since before 2015.I can't count the number of Jeeps around here that are. And now that Broncos are starting to become more popular, I'm starting to see it on some of those too, sadly.
- Balding front tires showing obvious alignment issues because they've never been rotated
- Balding tires in general (almost always KO2s for some reason), but brand new spare still has the new tire nubs
- Different brand/size spare tire, because it's never been rotated in
I mean, there is no requirement to do a 5-tire rotation, by any means. But it makes a lot of sense when you have a full sized spare hanging out over the tailgate - why would you not use it? The only good reason I can think of for just doing 4-tire is because you did a spare tire delete and just don't have 5 any longer.
