Hopefully this is the beginning of something with these tops. Mine is honey combing pretty badly and also has the cracks everyone else has. I think mine is a 3/22 build

Dang. I also have a 3/22 build. What changed in February 2022?

It's possible that month was when Ford's supplier changed their manufacturing process so that the honeycomb was "sealed" to prevent water absorption in that material.

It's a start. I have to imagine it'll get expanded, as we've seen many vehicles past a 1/22 build date have issues.

While I don't have any cracks, there are areas where I can see the honeycomb pattern. Not sure if that's normal. Anyways, it's interesting.

I have a 3/22 build and hope the date range will change. I've had some honeycomb, but just recently I finally started to notice cracks on the passenger side of the clamshell in the lower front corner.

I think it's more than dirt mountain, but definitely probably covers all of those. Early 22MY was never involved in that.

Also just remember, the build dates listed on the recalls are never accurate for some odd reason.
Broncos weren't produced until May of 2021, even though the recall says from 9/2020.
My 2021 build dates shifted 3 times between June & July, was finally built July 21, 2021. The, it disappeared, then the August 2021 letter saying it was held up for a new hardtop. I finally received the vehicle October 22, 2021. The MIC top has been fine, so far, although the three panels have been off 2+ years with the Skyrider.

9/2020 could be when the tops themselves started being produced in the ramp up to Bronco production?

I've seen a few cases posted here before. Recall one that was much worse than this one. Here's a prime example of the present recall:
https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/my-bronco-mic-hardtop-cracked-in-cold-11-degrees.65632/

Well, this seems to clear up any of my doubts regarding cold weather failures of the MIC top.

The story in those original posts mentioned that "Ford tested" the tops at -40 degrees. When the tops are new without any of the stress cracks, I can image the tops would pass Ford's testing without issue.

Why doesn’t ford just offer customers with the MIC top the option to upgrade to the black painted top for a little bit of additional money, and then charge extra for a fully paint matched version?

The antimatter blue would look interesting with a gloss black top.

Excellent. I hope your Bronco continues to do well for you just as mine has done for me.
I'm curious, how much snow and ice is your Bronco exposed to in your part of Texas?

Thankfully, almost none! I was wondering if freeze/thaw had anything to do with what others experienced.

I think "freeze/thaw" is why there is that "environmental" phrase in Ford's recall notice.
