Recall 26S32: 2021-2022 Model Year Broncos MIC Hard Top Roof Panel Delamination [May 15, 2026]

Is this a separate issue than all the cracking problems : Mine is a '23 model on it's 4th replacement top.

4th replacement? Sounds like more of an issue with you/where you live/how you treat your Bronco than an issue with Ford. My 2023 top still looks brand new:

- Parked in garage (not outside)
- Self wash only (never auto wash or touch wash)
- Avoid long stints in the blazing sun

Zero cracks, zero issues.

I have stated before Ford just needs to stop the MIC top and just offer the MOD top. Then in order to head off massive law suits replacevthevMIV tops already sold with MOD tops. It would be way cheaper then fighting law suits.

Speak only of what you know about or appear foolish. I would be on my 5th top but one was bad out of the crate and they never installed it. My 1st replacement they did install but looked worse than the one they took off so they ordered another one before I left.

I swear some of you are clueless.

Likely no leg to stand on unfortunately. They altered the top and Ford will quickly say they can’t prove the top they are looking at had the problems because they are covered. Even if you have photos of it before it was coated or painted.

This is why I wait wed it out in hopes something would come through eventually.

I doubt they’re worried about lawsuits. And even if they were, they’re still never going to give out painted tops, this recall proves that.
(Assuming they aren’t doing it for this recall lol)

They probably have no choice except to cover it regardless, it is a safety recall after all.
They likely can’t 100% verify that whatever was done to the top prevented it from still having an issue, so I’d guess they would have to replace it anyway.

Fair point looking at it from a safety recall standpoint. Either way it will be interesting to see what the remedy ends up being given they have it already. I know the hardtop on the accessories page has been out of stock for some time. Probably stocking them up for massive replacements.

Coincidentally I’ve been waiting for those to be in stock because I got my dealer to get Ford to replace my entire top using the accessories option and not the $12k plus individual pieces way or replacing it. So I quickly emailed them today after this recall announcement to advise that the cost sharing that was originally agreed to will no longer be valid once this runs through its course.

Sure. You can request it, but they won’t do it.

The recall says “due to environmental exposure”. My guess is they are flagging this for all the vehicles / time period for Dirt Mountain. Mine is a 2022 but outside of the build date range, so don’t think I’ll be getting the recall.

10/2022 delivery, my 2 doors top replaced in 2023 due to a crack, never had delamination. We all know it's a matter of time. I'm pretty sure they will extend it to all year models and hope the exchange will be for the fiberglass painted top.

Bumper-to-Bumper warranty on these ‘21 and ‘22 models all expired by last year.

Ford just opened the door again for all the people who want to spend weeks at the dealer to get four tops with the same “problem.”

My 21 was also a dirt mountain Bronco. Built in July 21 and waited there until October 30 for delivery... Mine sits outside in the Florida sun and the back cap is definitely a different shade of grey than the rest. All the panels have honeycomb showing through and the back cap is definitely showing cracks. I was considering the rhinoliner route, but I think I'll hold off to see what happens.... Still loving my Bronco though! 121k miles later!!

I cannot believe my FE has ANOTHER recall. I don’t have enough fingers to count them.

No one has said that they are replacing tops, probably going to be an inspection a cross their fingers, just like the valve issue.

Some of my friends question my sanity of buying an Ineos Grenadier. A tiny startup has managed to build a far more reliable/less recall vehicle. I had the door lock issue and it was resolved promptly and I was given a loaner.

I have never had a mechanical issue with the Bronco, but I should have earned frequent flyer miles for going back and forth to the dealer for recalls

Based on the repair method for the recalled, but found satisfactory sasquatch shock/reservoirs... i'm not sure I want to see the contraption they create to cover the hard tops!

The shock recall repair team has submitted their proposal.
