I bet it’s for the fixed metal roof Lincoln version. It’ll never be on a Bronco
I could be reading or looking at it wrong, but it doesn’t appear to be powered. Looks to be a manual sliding type of glass roof.

Not to say they wouldn’t do that for a “Lincoln” Bronco, but I highly doubt it. If this was for a Lincoln or even a fixed roof, I would expect it would be powered.

There is no way that this would leak, as we all know how good Ford is in creating tops that don't leak.

This first picture makes it looks like it's for transporting mountain lions:

Ford Bronco Bronco Sliding Glass Roof Revealed In Patent Filing 1000061641

In theory, this could work really well, but it's going to be designed for only ideal conditions where the costs are the lowest, but in every other real-world situation, they're gonna leak like the SR-71 scooting down the runway hoping to get up to Mach Fudge so it can work as designed.

When automakers protect intellectual property for upcoming models, they almost never file under the consumer-facing brand name.

This is for the Lincoln Bronco.
BREAKING: Ford to push all four-door models to round out their lineup and become the Lincoln Coxswain and keep the two-door with Ford in BaseManSquatch configuration only, no top, just a cockpit cover. Whatever is on that two-door is what you get with the only option being paint color but you can get any color Ford sprayed on anything in the last 10 years for $5,000.

Will add that Lincoln is an internal division and a brand name rather than a separate, publicly traded corporation, so it doesn't hold its own utility patents. Centralizing everything under the Ford umbrella serves a dual legal and strategic purpose: it protects the parent company's global rights across all platforms, and it prevents/muddies tracking brand-specific leaks before a vehicle is announced.

And I don’t think the Ford Bronco gets a roof like this before Lincoln.

The question is can ford execute, and deliver a quality top. There track record on tops has been a complete disaster. I'm on my 5th recall on my bronco, and I'm still getting recalls on my 10 year old f150. Where does it end?

Hopefully this is one hardtop that doesn't "crack"!

I can literally poke a finger in the gap at the back of my side window.
Last week I got some water in through the front because the strap for my headliner was inbetween the seat & the roof panel.
It's not like the roofs are exactly not leakable as is.
Well that isn't good. After 2 years of ownership of my soft top, none of those issues have arose.
