Looks great. Needs T-roof and 4 wheel independent suspension. Will be way overpriced in any decent power and trim but have to say Stellantis I'd definitely delivering what affluent and high credit market wants and aspirational products for the rest.

People need to reset the cost of a car in their minds,
No, I refuse! And a sandwich should still be about $5.

Didn't read the whole thread, but I'll believe it when it actually arrives. So sick of all this AI generated "news" that's really just click bait.
Thinking about this more, I just don't see a market for a 2 seater pickup that can't really tow much! Especially near 6 figures.

Pretty sure this is going to be based of the grand Cherokee/Durango platform in order to make the target production date. The platform already has ifs, v8 and srt trim without any engineering.

Love my JL, but it rattles and squeaks worse than a $9,999 Hyundai.

Its cool but this is a very niche market for sure. If I I wanted a truck bed something like a Ranger makes a lot more sense.
Especially for what the article speculates for the cost of the Jeep. A Ranger Raptor can be had for under 60k MSRP.

I dig the square headlights, but I was never a Jeep loyalists. I always thought the YJs looked cool too.
Jeep YJ's are making a big comeback, and good examples are getting hard to find here in the salt belt. All those years it was put down, and now the square headlights are back like bell bottoms?

If it had a diesel engine option and rubi underpinnings this could be very interesting..... otherwise they can keep the full time 4x4

Do YJ's have real sealed beam headlights? Round or square sealed beams are a million times better than the plastic crap we have now. The plastic crap fogs over invariably gets moisture inside the lens. I had a 85 Merc Cougar with four sealed beams and old school 3-speed automatic transmission. Man I miss that car and super reliable. The following year they went to so called composite (politically correct for cheap plastic!) headlights and 4 speed electronic transmission which had issues.

The OEM square headlights on the YJ are sealed beam (and replacements are readily available). There are lots of aftermarket options to go with LEDs as well.

I got my little 1988 YJ just to toodle around in, so I can keep the miles off the (expensive) Bronco, and for the simplicity, ease of maintenance and the ability to run on cheaper gas. I love how it doesn't scream at me if my seat belts aren't fastened. It doesn't assume I'm an idiot that doesn't know how to drive.

I test drove a Gladiator before getting my Bronco, that forever removed anything with a Jeep badge on it from my future shopping list.... 🤠
About a year after owning my Bronco I rented a pickup for a cross county trip. When I went to pick it up they offered me a new Gladiator Willys for no extra charge (normally Jeeps are a significant upgrade). Being a Bronco owner I jumped at the chance to drive a Jeep. 10 minutes on the freeway I was wishing I went with the Ram 1500. The Jeep feels unsettled and squirrelly on the road. The difference between the Jeep and Bronco is night and day. The Bronco tracks straight and true with good steering response. There is a video floating around on YouTube of some old British dude from Top Gear describing the Broncos ride as "Terrible". Of course the haters pile on. This is beyond crazy there is nothing terrible about it. Of course he plugs Land Rover (probably referring to Defender). Every Defender I've seen on the road has like 22" tires riding on the rims.. Okay whatever -- haters will hate.
