Wrangler goes electric only in 2028

I want a PHEV Bronco. Electric motor torque addition at slow speed is amazing. Expensive hyper cars are moving this direction for a reason.

If you bothered to read the article it says there will be a combustion powered model that charges the battery. Looks like they are just going to put in a single 400HP electric motor and use a small gas engine as a generator. To me this is a superior design.

I did bother to read the article and it stated that the combustion engine is solely a range extender. That's technically still an electric only drivetrain.

ideally they'll put a single motor for each wheel and totally do away with having center diff's and lockers for each axle.

I’m tired of these auto companies forcing crap down our throats that we don’t want. It’s fine if there’s going to be an option for some consumers, but when they change the entire line when ice engines are far superior for every day use, well that drives me nuts.

If jeep does this, I hope they lose billions.

In other words, if they go through with this, the Wrangler dies in 2028. Jeep also does not make a PHEV version of the 2 door. So the 2 door will be dead as well. F Jeep if they do this, we all know Ford will try to copy them on this too. So if you don’t think this effects you, trust me it will.

I don’t know if many realize, but Jeep already does NOT stock any non-4XE wranglers in carb states. So that also means no 2 doors are stocked in carb states. The only way to get a regular power train is by custom ordering.

Only fools and liars are still on the EV sinking ship. There are literally not enough raw materials on the planet to make this transition possible. This is all talk for the coorporate governance boards but in reality tge top executives know it's a unachievable objective that will not be met.
