Hi all, I’ve seen some threads saying that a 275/70 18 will fit on a stock non-sas OBX bronco, but not a lot information about wether or not this setup will work for off roading where the suspension could be pushed close to the end of its travel (whereas on street driving it will not)

I don’t want to put tires on that will make contact with the inside of the fender flares or wheel wells in instances where the suspension is mostly compressed, and especially when mostly compressed with the steering turned to lock. I want full and unencumbered movement of the wheels both on the suspension travel and steering travel.

if I need to stick with the stock 255’s to achieve that goal I will.

thanks!

Largest functional tires...

You can go pretty big and meet all your objectives. Just a matter of how much work/money you are willing to put into it.

If your question is "How big... with no additional work" - that's a totally different answer than just "How big"

Biggest issue with the OBX is the 18" rims - makes finding tires a bit more difficult, as most of the popular tires are in 17". Suspension/clearance-wise, it's the same as every other non-SAS/BL/Raptor Bronco out there.

Thanks for the reply. I updated the title to be more clear. I don’t want to do any modifications. I’m thinking I want to do 275/70 18 and I’m wondering if that will meet my objectives.

Sorry no real world experience with that exact set up or use case.

But since there are only a few replies at the moment ... you get
My thoughts, LOL

You are jumping from 32.1" to 33.2" , so only 1/2" larger from the center point. Not a huge jump.

I strongly suspect you'll clear without issue with the 33" tire.
If it did rub, it would be minor and is kind of a rite of passage with these things. LOL!

The basis of my opinion is my jump from factory 30's to 35's with the same suspension as yours. I also used Method wheels that are close to Sasquatch specs (less offset).
At any rate, that big of tire ran fine on the street , but I could get it to rub just a tiny amount on hard turns if the suspension was also compressed.
That's a damn big tire for an un-lifted vehicle, yet it only generated a small amount interference.
Thus , my strong suspicion you will be just fine.

I personally would not be afraid to try 285/70-18 (33.7) , but I have no issue with dealing with a little rub at the extremes.
It will look badass though.
But that's just me.
My next tire will most likely be the 285/75-17 (same 33.8") on the Methods.

Good luck!!

Just Opinion as I started in Squatch. I believe you can go to the 34 territories on stock; I am not however sure if wheel BS has to change?
