For the past week, I’ve been receiving emails from Ford to extend the use of my Navigation because the one year trial expires today. Is it worth to pay the annual fee of $49.95 which includes their$30 promotional.

Has anyone pay to renew this service or just use their phones?

I never specced navigation to begin with, and having had it in a couple loaners, I think that was the right call.
The Android Auto/Google Maps implementation is very nice, and seems to do just about anything the built-in nav can do, including pop directions up in the instrument cluster on '25+ models.

Some people like it. Even when I had vehicles with it though, I would default to the phone, so never found a reason to pay for it on Sync.

I find the phone is better - it gets more frequent updates, displays just as nice (or better) on the screen, you get your choice of what app to use, and both can work with or without a cell signal

Thank you for the insight. I’ve used my phone before and does work. I also wonder what other features will be taken away along with this.

Good call. I have a 2018 Raptor that the maps are installed locally and have no need to pay for subscriptions. I first thought my 2024 Bronco was the same but obviously not.

By not renewing, would this have any affect on other features Ford Pass offers such as remote start and knowing where the vehicle is parked and such?

I use google maps as does the uber and lyft drivers and the very poor roiting and address accuracy is shocking in 2026 not sure if its the poor sat accuracy or Googles sloppy work, so I just use it to know the road programming and route myself and tell drivers howntobgwt to destiation in quickest time since most are from 4th world and dont even look at building numbers LOL

Ford Pass features including Remote Start are generally free. I think the only subscription based features are Alexa and Premium Nav.

e: I say "free," I really mean "already paid for." Nothing is free on a $50,000 car 🌞

Their only and prominent selling point, per the offer you posted:
"So you never have to plug in your phone"

That's a pretty sad plea.

I haven't plugged in a phone(except to charge) since about 2001.

Google Maps works well enough for me. Good alerts to speed traps etc. The Ford nav does have the little speed limit icon that is useful. I wonder (out loud) if when using the Ford navigation with cruise control on if the speed is adjusted in different speed zones? That might entice me to re-up. I've never tried it to see.

No it won’t affect remote start or location. Only the nav
