Congrats! I picked up mine (2-door carbonized gray 2.7 basesquatch) about a month ago at Granger after 993 days of waiting, drove it 2100 miles home. Only regret is that I didnāt get lightning blue.
It is sticking up great, no issues after full days in 100+ deg days in the full sun.
They did replace my old headliner, in fact I had left it home and they had me bring it in so they could return it to Ford as part of warranty.
Iām guessing they used different adhesive but they didnāt explain...
After listening some more Iām actually not as happy with the subwoofer. It is the kicker 4ohm with fusion amp.
Seems like itās trying to play higher frequencies maybe.. annoying on some songs so I deactivated it and much better.
The 4ā speakers lack bass of course but it still sounds like a...
Sorry, I worded my comment weird. You are right, they are getting full range.
I was just referring to the Forscan labeling of āspeaker & tweeter vs speakerā as listed below.
xxYx-xxxx-xxxx - Driver Front Kick Panel/Dash Speakers
0 - Speaker
1 - Tweeter
2 - Speaker & Tweeter
3 - No Speaker...
I would add quality aftermarket 4ā speakers to the list.
I put some infinity 4āin the rear pods and tried the as built forscan as well as EQ off and set to speaker/sub (0,2) and it was huge difference. They woke up and sound so much better.
I think they come as speaker/tweeter?
But I tried it both ways (2,0 and B,3 in Forscan) and couldnāt really tell a difference, so not sure it matters that much.
Quick update, I got everything installed last night, ā23 2 door Base with sub delete.
Installed 4ā Infinityās in dash and pods. 4ohm 6.75 kicker and fusion sub.
I tried with and without 150 hz bass blockers in dash, with Forscan settings of speaker/tweeter and just speaker. To be honest I...
Another happy beneficiary of your instruction!
This is what I ended up with. on my'23 Base 2-door with sub delete
Replaced dash and pods with Infinity reference 4" with no bass blockers and added Kicker 6.75 with fusion amp.
Where I veered a bit is in Forscan I turned dash/kick to speaker...
Sorry, my question was worded weird.
I meant to ask about sending full range to aftermarket 4" speakers (like Hertz as he did)
Sorry for confusion.
I edited my question
And thanks for answer on dash getting full range. For some reason I was thinking the as built speaker-tweeter setting for...
This may be a dumb question that has been answered before.. sorry..
If you can send the full range to aftermarket coax 4" speakers in the pods and they sound good (as mentioned above).. can't you send the full range to aftermarket 4" speakers in the dash too?
Isn't the as-built values treating...
Ditto here.
Got picked up at the hotel, a quick walk through the Bronco and we were sent on our way within 15 min. The longest part was trying to connect my Phone to the Ford app.
We took 5 days and wandered up through Minnesota to Duluth to check out Lake Superior and even went up to Canada...
Just as a follow up the headliner came in, the dealer installed it and I picked it up this morning and drove to work.
It is sitting outside in the 100 deg heat so will be a good test to see if the fix works.
Also only the large liner in the rear came off.. the small ones on the front panels...
Thanks!
Interesting that the frequency response (defined by Critchfield as: The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest)) of the infinity speakers are listed at 75-21khz but they canāt really reproduce below 600?
Maybe they technically can.. just not...
Ah, I see. So the internal cross over is basically a high pass filter for the tweeter, and a low pass filter for the speaker.
but the 4ā speaker may not be able to handle lower frequencies well so would also need a bass blocker, which is basically a type of high pass filter.
The combination of...
Makes sense.. maybe it has to do with how well the built in crossover of the speaker directs frequencies to coax components (tweeter/speaker).. so some may need bass blockers some may not?
Found this on the internet (so it must be true)
"Configuring a speakerās crossover so that each driver...
The bass blocker
"To bass blocker or not.." on dash 4" is my big question..
With something like the Hertz that have built in crossovers.. isn't that already acting like a bass blocker and blocking out lower frequencies that the speaker isn't designed to handle?
Wouldn't adding a bass...
I was wondering this as well.. was it ever answered?
Also wondering why speakers with built in crossovers (like the Hertz) still need bass blocker? Doesn't the cross over act like a band pass filter? Is it just a heat thing?
