Based on the Ranger's rating it's clear the 2.3 can pull a ton of weight but people still doubt it. I'm pushing the sane limits of the Bronco here at about 5500lb but there is zero lack of go power.

With the WDH it's very stable and confidence inspiring at 60 while knocking out 14mpg.

Auto or manual?

The 2.3/auto was fantastic for me at 3000 lbs. (33's & 4.46)

The 2.3 manual was noticeably ....weaker, but it still got the job done. Saying zero lack of power would be a stretch, by my experience. But I was also turning 35's with 4.46 gears.

Now, the auto was a 4dr, so I think it'd probably do the 5k you have there very well.

The 2dr in my opinion though, was OK with the 3k, but ... if you're hitting full highway speeds with 5k in tow ,
..... you sir must have gentleman bits that CLANK!

LOL!!!

(edit ... i just put together what wdh is ..... sissy)

Manual. Had to pull a 5300ft mountain pass and it had no issue maintaining speed.

I've had a worse experience pulling this kind of weight with an old IDI F250...

... be careful, the difference isn't that the Ranger has the same 2.3L...

In Ford's information re their Bronco HOSS systems Fords show the bronco frames.

Here is the regular bronco frame showing rear cross member. tow rating # 3,500

Interesting the Raptor is tow rating # 4,500
FYI, blue thing in all of the pictures Ford released for what's different...

So the 1,000 pounds difference isn't just a 3.0L motor

I'm more concerned that he's traveling without a spare.
Pure foolishness ....
Riding on thin wall Goodyears no less.

Nope that's for the trailer. Figured I better at least have that since I'm committing another mortal sin for the towing pearl clutchers - the trailer tires are weather checked pretty good.

The point is if you are sticking to 3500 even a 1.0L EcoBoost would be sufficient keep it moving.

Just this afternoon I spoke with a neighbor who bought a Ranger last year, 2.3, and uses it to tow RV stuff--and she had nothing but praise for that platform.

Sorry that was not YOUR Point... your specific point was HEY LOOK AT ME I'M pushing...

Your okay with me through, I believe in Darwinism, and that we can greatly improve the human genome by simply removing All Warning Labels. Thereby allowing abnormal branches to go extinct by their own actions.
