Anyone else with a manual notice that it back fires? I can hear a little pop if I rev it to like 2k rpm and as it comes down get a little pop. It also does it when coming to a stop at stop sign or stop light. Just wondering if this is normal. I assume it is

It’s a feature, not a bug. Love it. I put a new exhaust on and on cold starts and downshifts before it’s completely warmed up, I’ll get burbles and pops. It makes me so happy.

As long as it doesn't take the Cat out like it did on my focus RS. The first one only lasted 44k miles.
To be fair the back fires on that car where a lot more aggressive and happened when shifting to.

Ha! Yeah, lots of bugs with the RS. Almost bought one, but heard a lot of scary stories. Stuck with my FiST and miss it all the time.

Ehhh they aren't to bad, just have to make sure the head gasket was done and they're mostly fine, they do have a lot of weird quirks. I love the FiST. After someone ripped the front of my RS off and i got the bronco I told myself if i get a second car its going to be a FiST lol. I love those little beans

Do it! I treated this poor thing horribly. Big turbo, a pretty spicy E30 tune, and I drove it like I stole it. Best part is that it was still slow enough to do all of that without getting any felonies AND it happily ran on this setup for 50k miles without a single failure. I was sad to sell that one, just too small for our growing family.

Are you stock or running a tune? I've never noticed this before or after having the Ford Performance tune on mine.

completely stock. It's not loud with the stock exhaust, as the rpms are coming down there's a little pop

After I did ARC muffler delete I noticed a bit more exhaust burbs and barks. I love the way it sounds. I even pulled next to a Lamborghini after he mashed the skinny pedal so did I . He almost got whiplash looking for me not expecting my loud exhaust.
