I did a bunch of reading about E85 and it seems like most people that run it have not made any fuel system modifications. Was hoping to get some feedback about E85 from those that run it without any fuel system changes.

My tuner to telling me I can't run it without injectors, pump, and ethanol sensor. They also said the highest we could go without those upgrades is E30.

I currently have ported throttle body and intake manifold, throttle body and manifold spacers, injen cold air, cvf down pipes and corsa going out the back + a custom tune to make it all happy and it's great. I run E85 in my Mustang and have a good source for it close to home and figured might as well save a little money since cost per gallon and fuel economy come out to be more efficient on the wallet with the current price of each 91 and E85 even with increased fuel consumption + get the extra horsepower because why not.

@MWILD @Ducati1098 I've read most of your guys stuff and it's helped me get to where I'm at now with my build.

If you have the custom tune for it - have a ball. If your tuner is saying no, you should listen to them - or get a new tuner.

Although I think someone around here tried various blends and once they crossed e50 the fuel pump ran out of legs - just not enough energy density.

It won’t save you any real money if that’s your goal though.

Not sure who your tuner is, but personally I would definitely consider a different one if that’s what they said. Maybe they’re just not familiar with ecoboosts? Or at least 2.7’s

No reason you can’t run full E85 with a custom tune on a completely stock fuel system. Plenty of fuel system for it. And you certainly don’t need an ethanol sensor.

I didn’t need to make any fuel system changes until I went to CRP stage 3 turbos, and even then all I needed to max those out were f150 3.5L port injectors.
