Hello friends,

Wanted to share my recent dyno results. I spent a lot of time making sure we got numbers with the stock calibration, ZFG 93 tune, and their E85 tune. We had to drain the tank and use a custom tune to allow the fuel pump to run so we could swap to E85. The 2.7L Ecoboost can run full E85 with the ZFG Racing custom tune without the need for a HPFP.

Here's a breakdown of the mods that are installed on my Bronco.

2022 Ford Bronco Big Bend Sasquatch 2.7L

List of performance mods:

  • HP Tuners MPVI3 w/ ZFG Racing Custom Tune
  • CV Fabrication Intercooler
  • CV Fabrication 3" Cat back Exhaust
  • Injen Evolution Cold Air Intake System - EVO9301
  • Turbosmart Kompact EM VR19 Dual port BOV
  • NGK 95605 plugs gapped to .028
  • BMS Pedal Tuner

So basically, Intake, exhaust, Intercooler and tune.

I will go back to the dyno after I add Down-pipes and charge-pipes.

Here are the results:

  • Stock calibration w/93 Octane
  • ZFG Racing 93 Tune
  • ZFG Racing E85 Tune

All pulls done in 5th gear

Ford Bronco 400 WHP unlocked on 2.7L with ZFG Racing E85 Tune + Bolt-ons Dyno Chart

With the E85 tune:
  • 0-60 in 4.3s
  • 1/4 mile in 12.9s

I bet it flies man. I'd be up for this, but I would want to keep mine mechanically stock. Just a full E85 tune. I wonder how much the mods helped over what it would do just straight up stock? Also you can enable the ARF gauge in forscan under the IPM controller I think is where it is.

Adam does great work. That is moving for a vehicle of that size. Why a pedal tuner if Adam could just do the same too?

You would at least need an intercooler because factory one is ridiculously small.

Adam does great work. That is moving for a vehicle of that size. Why a pedal tuner if Adam could just do the same too?
Seems HP Tuners hasn't unlocked pedal mapping quite yet, so I'm using the BMS pedal tuner for the time being.

Revised answer

It’s hard to say for sure, but I would guess both the 93 and E85 tune would lose about 15-20 HP and around 20-30 TQ if you were completely stock.

Also, like @2020FordRaptor said, I would at least install an aftermarket IC if you were considering a custom tune.

CV Fab has them for under $600 shipped.

What did that tune run you? I have cv fab intercooler and down pipes, AFV intake and magnaflow exhaust and tbs blowoff valve. I’m ready for a good tune

This is awesome as hell, and 400whp is the number I'd like to see on mine too someday! Question is, would this be enough for a 2.3? Or what else would you think I'd need?

Not sure custom tuning is available for the 2.3 yet, but once it is you’ll have plenty of options to get your north of 400. Only need to upgrade one Turbo as well 😁

Thats cool. I was doing that a few years ago with an unamed coyote tuner when the flex fuel F150 came out and tuners were trying to port those settings over to the coyotes to enable flex tunes. Worked alright, but took a few years to really make them more than just transition tunes between fuels. Nowadays tuners have moved away from them for NA and wont do them at all for boosted cars. Its too finicky with the inferred alcohol levels and how the car takes a while to learn up/down the AFR in response.

They are great tunes for going from say E85 to 93 or back, but I'd never run a flex tune full time and just assume I can mix E and 93 at will. The fuel trims will be all over the place, and at times to dangerous levels until the next fill up and it triggers a relearn.

But I'd love to do some testing as well, but sounds like you got it all covered. I do have a full HPT setup and years of experience logging and tuning GM LTs and then the coyotes for both NA and boost.

You changed your turbos out for the 400whp? And is that necessary for the 2.3?
