2.7 oil leak dripping on exhaust

I want to say that's the turbo coolant return line if it's the one with the heat sleeve and hose clamp, but hard to tell. This would be for coolant, not oil so if that tube is wet with oil, the leak is likely above it and following the hose down.

Ideally, you'd have a bottle of oil dye in there and run it for awhile so it would show up with a black light. DM me your shipping info and I'll send you a bottle and hopefully make the techs job a little easier diagnosing.

I dropped the Bronco off Tuesday August 2nd.

I received a call later that day "we changed your oil, but found no leaks even though you were slightly low on oil"

I proceeded to explain it is leaking and I have photos. I emailed them to the service advisor and supervisor. I was told they will get it back in and advise.

Yesterday morning 8/10 after hearing nothing I emailed. Reply late that day "oil leak was traced to the valve cover, parts are on order and expected to arrive this week"

So if all goes well I'll have it back next week.


I left on vacation to Arizona on the 5th. So it hasn't been a big deal but the lack of communication was annoying.

It goes back in the shop Monday. I'm getting slightly annoyed at this point, but I'll give it until next week.

Went in the shop Monday. The new valve cover went on with gasket, but 1 of the hoses was the wrong one, it was supposed to be overnighted and they thought I could have it

21 days at the dealer as of today.

I get a call at 10am it was done.

I get down there, sign paperwork and go get in the truck, which they parked the wrong way in the service entrance. I start it up and it has a check engine light. Advisor comes out, clears the code it comes right back. It's for the EGR circuit open.

She brings the tech out, now people are trying to pull into service and the Bronco with the hood up is blocking both lanes. Tech can't figure it out. They decided to take it back to a bay and have their master tech look at it, who happens to be a personal friend. They brought it back out after another 15 min. The plug for the EGR sensor wasn't clipped in/fully seated.

So after 24 days I finally got it back. They rotated (4) tires and jacked the air pressure up to 40, so i need to drop them back to 35.

I'm glad this is over!
