Hi everyone, just picked up my new Bronco yesterday. There is this engine noise that sounds like a vibration when the Bronco is running and I can’t tell what it is or if it’s normal. It starts at about 4 seconds.

Edit: sent video to dealer and they asked me to bring it in.

all I can hear is the ticking from the high pressure fuel pump.
It sounds like something is vibrating in between the ticking every other second.

if it happens on start up it could be cam phasers. You will definitely know if it is. look it up on youtube to get an idea of what it sounds like.

Very well could be but most don't start for a few thousand miles.
Is the cam phaser rattle only on start up?

I had the vehicle idling for 10 minutes after driving for 30 and it was making the noise. I’ll have to check on startup

Not cam phasers, sounds nothing like that noise, which is only on initial startup for a few seconds, when oil has had enough time to drain back.

That is a curious sound. If it were me, I'd be trying to pin point where it's coming from. It almost sounds like something is rubbing (reminds me of a playing card against a bike wheel spoke). Check belt to make sure something isnt fluttering in the way. You could use a mechanics stethoscope or what I've often done is a large flat head screw driver. You can cup your hand to ear & end of handle then move the tip around and it can amplify internal noises.

Thanks for the tip. I sent it to my dealer this morning and the GM and Service Manager want to take a look at it.

Good luck. Post an update if they diagnose. It sounds like it could be some electrical relay/control box derping out or something, lol. Deff a weird noise, not being in sync with anything mechanical.

Update:

I listened to the service managers Bronco at my dealer and heard a similar noise. I don’t think it’s an issue at the moment but will monitor.

Interesting. I've never noticed mine making that sound.

Mine makes weird noises too. I just put it down to emissions equipment.

My last rig had a secondary air pump that was loud AF.
