Hey everyone, just seeing what you fellow 2 door owners are choosing for a roof rack. Preferably full length and aluminum. I’m looking at the Trailrax right now but seeing if anyone might have any suggestions for a rack they like or that is in the works.

Pics are welcome!

here’s my ride with its “tree rack” and also a pic of the Trailrax.

I’m also looking at the trailrax rack. I like it’s lower profile and modular design.

The other route I’m looking at is the Gobi rack which is pretty far in the other direction. My thoughts there are you can remove the entire roof easily and still have an open air experience which you can’t really get with the trailrax.

Large Yakima Platform via Ford Accessories w/OEM rails.
The wind noise is ridiculous. Lots of buffeting noise. If I put the yakima perimeter rails on it whistles incredibly loud.
Wondering if the small one would be better.

I use to run a front runner rack on my 4runner and it was crazy loud too. I had to add a universal wind fairing. You should look in to it.

pretty sure it was this one

Looks interesting. Can you still remove the front roof panels with your rack installed? Got any specs such as weight, height, load, materials? Thanks.

I moved mine further back and it helped with wind noise quite a bit. What I don’t love about the Yak is mounting hardware isn’t as awesome as I had thought before purchasing it.

You do lose the ability to remove the front targa top. It's a sacrifice we made to keep the rack low profile and to reduce wind noise (see below graph). The rack is made of a combination of steel and extruded aluminum to keep it light. Weight capacity is below.

Load Capacity *evenly distributed:

200 Lbs Offroad
245 Lbs Dynamic
575 Lbs Static
