If I’m not mistaken, MAP could do 300,000 back when it built Focus.
The plant currently has 2.8 million square feet of floor space and a capacity of 5,300 units per week. So, theoretically they could get 275,000 out a year now.
You are correct. At it's peak, Ford produced 297,208 Focus's for US & Canada in 2012 at MAP. After that Focus sales started to drop. MAP at the time had the capacity to build 400k per year.

There are many factors that affect production numbers. Line speed, number of shifts. days per week, etc. Unfortunately, Ford can't just go 24/7 producing vehicles. The UAW has a lot of influence. From Ford's perspective, it is cheaper to work overtime on 2 shifts than add a third shift. The UAW wants the opposite. With a 3 shift operation, they get more workers hired. This has always been the case. I know first hand, I used to work there.

To ease everybody's minds, if the the parts are available, the plant can crank out a lot more vehicles than they currently have orders for.

Great! One more dumb question... do we know outside of esthetics what other improvements are being made to the Bronco for 22YM?
Besides paint and offering all the stuff that‘s been promised or pushed back, I doubt much of anything changes outside of things made to aid assembly or ease warranty claims.

Boy Howdy, the first few pages of this thread did not age well.
I think the math still works out, just missed the start of (reservation holders) production by about 4-5 months.
I know Mar to May is only 2 months, but with the slow ramp up, dealer mannequins, priority orders, and vips, May, June, and probably part of July production is not considered in the orig post.

Full Rate production is (I believe) still scheduled to start 1st week of August.

MAP capacity is 600 vehicles per shift (M-F) plus 480 on Sat for 6960 a week. That's roughly 120,000 vehicles before December. So once again, the constraint is Webasto. If Ford can actually get the tops, they will have no problems running 80:20 Broncos to Rangers.

Does anyone know if they will launch the 2022 Ranger and 2022 Bronco on the same date or will they stagger them to minimize complexity ?

My cousin works at MAP (well..not since they shut down for a few weeks) and just said their hold up isn't only Webasto, it's also chips. And when they go back, they aren't going to be running full shifts.
I should have left my $15k deposit in the bank or in a CD to draw a little interest I guess.
