Next phase, work in process. I removed the rear seats and used the internals from an extra set of buckles to defeat the dash warning. I still need to open up the side trim panels and hide the remaining seat belt straps.

TBD if I build my own floor and raised platform similar to my current set up or have some custom drawers built.

I forgot to mention. The four bolts that secure the seat bottoms were rusty AF. That’s saying something because I live in a very dry climate. So heads up to all, it may be a good idea to add some anti seize or rust inhibitor to these bolts if you ever plan on wanting to remove them in the future.

Yesterday I unbolted the seatbelt shoulder straps and tucked them into the side trim under the rear rollbar. The driver side had plenty of room, however the passenger side was a bit tight due to the subwoofer. I made it work buy disconnecting a wire harness, for the speaker I believe, and tucking the belt back in a small cavity and then reconnected the wire harness. In the effort to reduce rattle / noise from the belts bouncing around inside the side trim I wrapped them in an old thin cloth towel, then put them inside a big ziplock bag and then zip tied it all together in a tight little package.

Removing the side trim was a little hairy as I didn’t want to break any of the clips. Just pull out near the clips one ant a time and the side trim will pop open. I didn’t remove the entire panel, I just opened it up enough to reach inside.

Has anyone tried cutting / trimming the rear underfloor cubby cover? I’m wondering what kind of material it’s made of and if it would respond well to a jigsaw?

I’m having some drawers made by Air Down Gear Up and we may keep the EOM cover in place, sacrificing the jack cubby, but trimming a hole in the cubby cover for access to the back underfloor cubby. This is all TBD.
