New member here. Just got my build date on a 2022 Black Diamond and wonder if anyone has put 315/70/17 tires on the factory 17" Black High Gloss-Painted Aluminum Wheels? I understand that crash bars will need to be removed, and do intend for at least a level, but will that size tire fit on those factory rims?

Not looking to replace the rims with a custom set if I can avoid it.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure someone over on the Black Diamond Non Sasquatch thread did this already. @mtap maybe?

Yup they fit. Just note that you will need to remove the bump stops on the tailgate, otherwise it pushes the bottom part of the spare out and your spare will look like it’s on an angle. Or you can put washers on the top 2 bolts of the tire carrier to push the top part out to even the bottom of the spare. I chose to remove the bump stops.

These look great! Thank you for the info and pics. I’ve been shopping around and so far I’m getting pushback from the local tire shops that they won’t fit, or that they won’t do it.

Looks amazing! Bought a set of 315/70r17 KM3's yesterday to do the same thing. Does this have a leveling kit/lift on it?

Another slightly skinnier option will be the 35 x 11.5 - 17 Toyo OC AT3.
I have them on my base Base.
They are listed for 7.5" wheels in their specs .... 7.5" to 10" to be exact.

(Method wheels on mine though .... +35mm)

So im supposed to get my 2" level put Tuesday and have an appointment to put on the KM3's tomorrow. Anyone know if the tires will fit prior to putting the level on? I already removed the crash bars. Want to make sure I won't have a problem driving it over the shop. lol.

I’m looking at the same tires on Method 705’s, I read your post about the Toyo’s being LOUD at higher speeds. Anything else I should consider if looking at the same 35x11.5R17 Toyo’s?

I am not aware of another 35 x 11.5 tire.
The choices get very limited when looking at larger tires in a C or lower load rating.

For my manual Base, 4.46 gears, my do over tire would be shorter ... probably the 285/70-17 in a SL load rating. Softer, quieter....

I'd want to drive a Bronco on E tires before I moved up to that level.

A bunch of 285/ 75 -17 (33.8) are out there as well as some 295/70-17 (33.3")

And then there is the very interesting Mickey Thompson 255/85-17 at 34.5"!

2022 Black Diamond and wonder if anyone has put 315/70/17 tires on the factory 17" Black High Gloss-Painted Aluminum Wheels

I spotted a similar 4-door BD with the alloy OEM wheels yesterday, and it looked like they were running a set of Goodyear take-offs from a Sasquatch. They looked good, and apparently they work. I didn’t see it clearly enough from the side to see if they had any lift/level. I still wonder about running 315’s on a 7.5” rim. It’s not recommended, according to the charts, and it seems like they would be fairly well pinched on those rims. We’re going to go with 285/75-17’s
