Got my build date for 02-07 for a non squatch Black Diamond. Looking to get some tires ordered since it seems like a lot are at least 1-2 months out.
Wanting to keep the stock steelies and throw on a 1" leveling kit.
Hoping to get the BFG KO2 315/70/17
Anyone know how/if these will fit with the stock wheel offset and a front 1" level only? I am okay removing the crash bars if needed. Just not sure if the stock offset will work. I am a newbie when it comes to wheels and offsets etc.
Thanks for any input you might have!

Those tires might be too wide for the stock wheels

The min rim width recommended is 8" and the stocks are 7.5" so I think it is a little too wide. But I have seen. lots of people putting wider tires on 7.5" rims also where the recommendation is at least 8.5" so I thought it could be done?
Thank you for that feedback!

Plenty of folks on here say things are doable that aren’t recommended from a safety or practicality perspective.

That is a good point. I guess that is the point of this thread. Just trying to figure out if it Is doable and okay or not.
If not I have an alternative that is a little smaller. Just want to go as big as I can on the stock option.

By all accounts I have seen the steelies do not have the correct offset for 315/70-17s and will rub, several threads out there

Thanks,
Looks like 285/75/17 is going to be my best option!

I have been running 315/70r17 tires on a set on 17” method hole wheels with a 0 offset. No lift. Crash bars removed. No rub at all lock to lock. Changed out fender flares to Sasquatch flare to lessen the poke.

No lift or level. I bought the 2” lift from zone off-road, but have not put it on yet. I kinda like the look without the lift. Drives great and feel more stable with wider wheels.

Stock steelies on Nitto Trail Grapplers 315/70/17 with 2” 4WP level kit..only issue i came across was i had to remove the tailgate bump stops for the spare. Due to offset, there was no clearance for the bump stops. No rattle or anything, i actually like it closer to the gate.
