Thanks everyone for the quick and relevant insight. I’m gonna go with 285/75/17 BGF ATKO2 (E).
I'd stay away from an (E) range tire. It will ride pretty rough. C range will not only save you some weight, but will ride better as well. Just my opinion though. Do what works for you...

You're all set then, that's a great tire. I've experienced BFG tire feel my whole life, pretty much. KOs were great, KO2s are better designed. Best wishes!

Thanks all for your insight and feedback. Just confirming that it to 85/75R 17 will fit onto the stock 17 inch rims on my black diamond. My understanding is the width is 7.5.
