Installed Next Venture Motorsports rear diff skid and rear shock skid plates. I like both and I didn’t even use the lift. Pulling the rear tires would have saved me maybe 10min but have another car on the lift so just not worth it. They have nice videos on their website on how to install also.

Simply put 40s will 100% require you to lift outside of the finder well...
I'm curious why this is. First of all amazing work and thank you for this in-depth walkthrough of not only fitting 38s but also the 37s build. With the 38s you have on now, what would be the next hard part to be hit by the tire if you continue to go up in size? Would a slight body lift as you go up in tire size solve the problem or would you hit something like the body mount, requiring more suspension lift to clear?

40s are huge they just won't fit they would hit everywhere. You have to keep in mind the idea is to keep the tire tucked in. Keeping the tire tucked in is say you are using the hole in the finder. Amy bigger you will start hitting the body when you turn look at my pics. Now you can lift out of the fender and put 40s all day but working inside the fender is the hard part. My original plan was 39s that measure 38.5 they may fit and I'm sure they do mall crawling but with swayer disconnected man I just think it's not worth the 1/4in lift.

Disclaimer: I had a hand in development/testing of the new MT02.

Milestars are true to size, much moreso than most other manufacturers. My first set of DOT 42's measured 41.66. I took them to the skins in 10 months of HARD wheeling (Sand Hollow is my backyard)

Personally, I feel the MT02 DOT is a far better wheeling tire than the earlier MT Blacks were.

I am running 40" MT02 Blacks on my comp buggy right now and they are MUCH softer than the prior MT Blacks. Durometer is around 53, IIRC that's 14-15 points softer than the standard DOT. I should have the first set of 42 Blacks when they arrive this summer.

Great to see the 38's squeezed on! Curious to your impressions as you get more seat time on them. Unsure at this point just what my wife will allow on her OBX when it arrives, pretty sure she's gonna limit me to 34-35's tho :)

BigMeatsBronco has a thread about fitting 40's with almost stock ride height. Some cutting is definitely required, relocating a few things, and there's some frame rubbing too that probably won't be fixed without longer a-arms. I suppose you could adjust the steering stops to prevent frame rubbing, but that would be a personal call as to whether you could consider it a fix or a stopgap measure. Portals would certainly fix a lot of clearance issues, and they would push the tire further out, likely avoiding frame rubbing issues just like longer a-arms would.

Great write up! I've been running those 37" KM3s for a while now and the noise is getting pretty loud. I just ordered the Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 38x12.5r17 for my 2021 Badlands. I have 3" over Sasquatch lift from the RadFlo coilovers and I have a 1.5" body lift as well. Also running the JKS Max Tire clearance kit and wheels are the Fuel Zephyr in 17X9 with -12 offset. So I'm hoping for a rub free experience, but you never know until they get on. Also have the BroncBuster Steering rack housing and bushing with Icon tie rods.

With my total lift, my KM3 37s look a little small. Like I skipped leg day, lol.

Just would like to add that Patagonia now comes in a D rated tire google it this will last longer as a street tire. When my daily 37s go out this will be what I make my daily 38s at. Right now the 38s are just my Offroad tire.

I will be adding these in a week as my new daily so I'll let you know how they ride and any issues with my setup. I plan on not riding with the spacers we will see how it goes. Any questions or pics needed just let me know.

OK, so 38s I knew they fit BUT the question was the spare. ADD bumper came with a 3rd brake light bracket. At first I needed a 1in spacer due to that 3rd light bracket hitting the tire. I cut part of it off and then didn't need a spacer its like a perfect fit. See pics
