I just realized I didn’t answer your question about the cigarette lighter socket.Does the 12V conversion for the Gen3 work with the cigarette lighter power socket in the Bronco’s cargo bay, or does it require an additional retrofit (e.g., hot & neutral wires with ring terminals back at the 12V battery)? Also, where can I find the 12V conversion kit?
I’m pretty sure it won’t supply enough power to run any of the dishes. From memory, the Gen 2 dish requires a minimum of 165-185 watts without snow melt enabled, plus whatever the DC-powered router requires. The High Performance Dish is somewhere in the 350-400 watt range, I think.
I just bought a Gen 3 dish for a project at work, but we’re running it on AC power so I haven’t taken the time to find its DC requirements. I’d guess it’s somewhere close to the Gen 2 dish, though.
