Speaking the 200,000 pts. I just took delivery of my 6/30 blend Wildtrak (7/13/20 res) yesterday. Got the email from Ford last week that makes it sound like I should be getting the 200,000, but the dealer said that wasn't the case.

Dealer is wrong aren't they?
Based on the email, yeah, dealer is wrong. The 200k points were awarded to anyone that initially had a painted/MOD top and switched to MIC. I would show them the email and escalate the hell out of it if the dealer refuses. We're talking approx $1k in value!

Did he get a “Built Email” or just see it on the Order Tracker?
He works at a dealership and said the tracking info there says released to ship

I have a feeling our "bad batch" Broncos are going the way of the 2020 Explorer and Aviator builds that were also put on a quality hold and "fixed" at a later date trickling into dealers months later. In fact they went so far as to send them to another plant to have workers fix them.

Actually they weren't really "fixed" because my wife's Aviator roof still leaked water and took a couple attempts to fix post sales. That launch was also a hot mess for Ford at lead to a high number of buy backs.

I’m sure this doesn’t mean anything, but in today’s episode of “Whose Tracker is This Anyway?” it no longer even has the line for expected delivery. This week I’ve gone from N/A to 7/28/21 to N/A to literal nothing.

Assuming your referring to me. Not like there is much to say that hasn't already been said, about 6k units are on hold for the supplier quality issue we all have been keenly aware of for some time now. Let me dispel some roomers/concerns I keep seeing as I've gone through 15 pages today.

1)No Ford is not going to scrap the units, I have seen hundreds of cars get ripped apart to replace the body harness and then get put back together before. Replacing a roof because of delamination is nothing.
2)Most likely MAP will bring in the high seniority and product specialist from the off shift and run the vehicles through the mod center for a campaign like this. Trying to fit vehicles back into the line would be a mess and not needed for this.
3)There is not a chip shortage on bronco
4)You cant take parts allocated for the line and shift them to the vehicle that are on hold. That would shut the line down and they have 100,000 of these thing to build. Im sure the roofs are a JIT part so I'm going to guess that if Webasto was up this week when MAP was down then they were probably making tops for the stop ship trucks. Then next week would go back to supplying the line.

I'm just sitting here watching all these people loose there minds. I waited almost 6 months for my car to ship from Germany to Michigan after being built, so 1 month although its annoying is not that bad. Just relax the vehicles will get fixed and ship as soon as they can be, 2 weeks after you get your shinny new bronco you wont care that you waited an extra month.

But let me give everyone who read this far one more bit of advice, your sales person, dealer GM, or regional rep have no clue what is going on. In the automotive industry the dealers are always the last to know. I have been told a dozen times by my sales person that she needs to talk with me more often to get info. If you want them to check Vehicle Visibility to check the status that is fine but that's about all they can reliably do.

TL;DR: Units are still on hold, they will get fixed, breath and relax, stop asking your dealer they don't know
I do appreciate the small bit of light you can shed on what's going on, but I need to point out this attitude is probably my biggest problem with this whole process.

I have a feeling Ford has the same attitude internally. While I get that they are doing all they can to make this right, the lack of transparency is an issue. Some of us haven't been waiting 6 months for this vehicle, we've been waiting since 1996. Then placed our orders over a year ago at this point. And we've been put through one helluva rollercoaster. From obsessing over different trims and options, to hearing we'd start seeing them in the spring. We're now at the end of summer (when most of us wanted to roll around in these rigs btw) and 6k units (the large majority of what's been produced so far are sitting in limbo with no ETA). Most of those builds are priority builds, so keep in mind we went from not knowing when we'd get it to being excited that we were lucky enough to be selected for priority, then even more excitement seeing it get scheduled, just to have it pulled out from under us while newer units are built and shipped. Every time someone posts here that they received their rig, there is a collective sigh. We're happy for that person, but we also want to get out on the road and show off these rigs (especially given the number of ugly jeeps we see rolling around all the time.) It could be October since some of us see our vehicles and any way you slice it that sucks hard being one of the first ones built and the last ones to receive.

Ford touted how successful the Bronco launch was in their earnings yesterday. DO NOT FORGET WE are the ones who made it successful. And 6k of us are pissed off as we watch newer builds get delivered before ours. The fact is, this situation has turned 5,000 happy, excited customers, into a mob of unhappy customers who are so sick of the whole thing they may not even take delivery. That's okay though because Ford knows they'll still sell the vehicle regardless, right?

A little more sensitivity and communication would go a long way here towards keeping this huge group of customers hanging on just a little longer.

I’ve got to tell you guys, giving birth is a hell of a lot easier.
My dealer says his ETA is 8/13. Yesterday, I had an ETA of 8/5 But still in production. Today I’m back to 1990. The only thing that moved was my window sticker date of 7/29. Talk about false labor pains.

@Hailalien thank you again for providing us some insider perspective. If your estimations are correct about 5-6k stop ship builds (which I think is very likely), how many of those actually need repair/replace vs those that are ok to ship but we’re just held for more QC. For conversation let’s just say 75% as a guess. 3750 now need new roofs. How many can a small team at the Mod Center replace in a day? 50-100? At best then, that’s another 37 work days to cycle through all of those builds. I don’t see this problem going away any time soon. It’s likely Ford feels the same way and that is part of the reason why their lips are sealed.
So its really going to depend on if the units being held are a mixed bag of good and bad or if they all have already failed inspection. Also whether or not Ford just decides to not risk it and replace all the hardtops. My theory is that they used a suspect batch of parts to keep the line running back at the end of June when everyone seems to have been held, based on what one of the other members found out from people inside MAP that the vehicles are "waiting on inspection" that would seem likely.

Mod centers are normally fairly large, not sure on MAP but lets say 50 bays and they always have the option to bring in a big free standing tent to make a temporary mod center. With some of the YouTube videos showing how you can easily remove the hardtop in 10 minutes they could churn these out and I think they will want to. I dont see why 500 per day isnt possible even running at low capacity as long as they have the parts.
