I’m so sad to post this but hoping for some advice or insight from anyone who has had to work through collision repair. Our Badlands took a punch this morning.

Bronco was at a dead stop in the turn lane waiting to turn left. A small sedan pulled out into the intersection right in front of an SUV which caused it to veer into the oncoming turn lane. The speed limit in the area is 45 and I imagine the Lexus was traveling somewhere near that speed. No police report yet so I’m just speculating.

I will update in the future with any insurance information.

Day one reservation with delivery in September 2021. After waiting so long for this truck, then absolutely adoring it, I am gutted to see it in this shape.

Edit 7/31/23:
Well, three months in and I still don’t have my Bronco. Insurance did not total it and wrote a check for $28,000 for repairs. That was about a month ago so we are still waiting for the collision center to finish purchasing all the parts and begin repairs.

Edit 10/23/2023
Well friends, we are up to $32,000 along with 6 months of rental car expenses. Still no truck in my driveway and still not totaled. Fingers are crossed that we get some sort of resolution by the end of the year.

April 2024 - FINALLY RESOLVED! She's finally fixed and back home ALMOST in the same condition she was in before the accident. I don't really have anything kind to say about the Collision Center that handled the repairs and we definitely ran into all the same issues others have complained about regarding parts availability.
I'm just so thankful that it's finally finished.
Back on the trail at last!

Hopefully they were insured. These days it's a toss up. Considering the one car will be liable for both of the other vehicles hit, it's a good chance they will be underinsured even if they do have insurance.

From what I can see the tie rod end, bumper, grille and head light took the brunt of the impact. The control arm and frame mounts look untouched.

I would guess the bags will be a large % of the cost the rest looks pretty much like unbolt, re paint and replace. You never know with insurance though, I bought a raptor that had been totaled, and spent under 4k in parts and my time and drove a great truck for 5 years

As long as you have full coverage your good. Sorry that this happened. The airbags dropped to. In many cases insurance will total the vehicle when that happens…

Man, that sucks. I read all the time on forums that if air bags deploy insurance companies will total the vehicle. That’s not necessarily true. Our service department puts new air bags in body shop cars all the time. I’m sure that your Bronco won’t be totaled. Looks like a new bumper, grill, headlight, fender, lower control arm, knuckle, tie rod and air bags and you’ll be back in business. The biggest problem will be parts availability. I hope that it goes well for you.

Make sure you look at claiming “Diminshed Value” on the vehicle Ins. claim considering you’re not at fault. The accident more than likely just ruined your high resale value. (Will now more than likely show vehicle was in an accident on Cafax etc.) and Bronco’s = high resale on the used market.
This possibly will give you thousands more for the vehicle claim to make up difference since it is now an accident vehicle.
Just my 2 cents….

**Example of “Diminished Value “(Depreciation) in South Carolina-after vehicle has been repaired

“South Carolina's diminished value laws protect you by compensating you for this loss ahead of time. If your car was worth $25,000 before the crash and dropped to a value of $15,000 after the accident, you should receive compensation of $10,000 to make you whole.

I wonder if the insurance company will say anything about the crash bars being removed?
