Shortly after I picked up my bronco, I swapped the wheels for sas take offs. I removed both crash bars on the front. No lift/level. No rubs or issues. I know this has been covered in the past I just figured I would add again incase someone is looking to do the swap.

I live on a gravel road so it wasn’t long before I added mud flaps and sas fender flares. They helped to cut down the rocks being thrown at doors. Then several months later I added a 2” lift just for the looks.

1st pic is new when we picked it up.
2nd pic is just with the wheel swap.
3rd pic is with the sas flares and mud flaps
4th pic is compare before and after the 2” lift.
5th pic is current

2023 obx. Non sas.

Bookmarked. Extremely helpful and looks great. You can get a pair of sas takeoffs for less than 5 new tires so it’s an option for me.

It’s crazy how a different set of tires can completely transform the look. Add a lift and another transformation! Looks great. What lift did you go with?

I’ve been looking for AMB flares forever; this is one way to get both painted and SAS flares and it looks really good. Prior to the lift IMO is better (pic 4) because the wheel wells are more filled. That’s the only thing that bothers me about SAS, the wheel wells have so much void that the tires look smaller than they are.

It’s just a 2” spacer lift. Not gonna be doing any hard off roading anytime soon in this. It’s keeps the same ride quality.

Agree. I like the big tires/no lift look.

Looks great. Thanks for sharing. I’m thinking of doing the same. Curious about your experience with a few things…
  • What tires did you put on it?
  • How did the swap effect gas mileage in normal, on road conditions?
  • What gear ratio does your OBX have? Did you notice a big difference starting from a hard stop or other noticeable driving qualities?
Thanks for your help!

Stock Goodyears from the Sasquatch package. 315/70/17

Fuel mileage is similar. Normally get around 18-20 mpg.

4.27 gear

You can tell it has bigger tires when starting and stopping but not a huge difference.

Y'all must not like flexing without rubbing.
OP did not say anything about rubbing.

Where are you getting that it rubs ? Plenty of other posts on B6G with this exact combination and I don’t recall any reporting they are rubbing.

If it rubs, then lift of course. Duh.

mine did not rub, but I did not do any hardcore offroading with it tho.
I only lifted it for the looks. Wasn’t any need for it.
