Thanks.Good video. Can you reinstall the shutters (on a base model) with the CVF intercooler if you wanted to?
Much appreciated and plenty of videos coming soon. Trying to dig deeper in the ProCal, but still need to do more research. I’ll probably end up switching over when custom tuning becomes available.Nice work up, I wish I had captured a before upgrade set of numbers, but the seat of pants metric has been great.
About 1-1/2 years ago I did the Whipple IC, then I did the AFe Hot and Cold charge pipes and finished with the Ford Performance Tune ProCal. I need to learn how to connect the ProCal and capture the numbers to see where is am at now, but won’t be able to see the before side.
I did the exact same thing with the shutter assembly and I have been in negative temps in Montana with no problem.
I love your video, please do more, especially about the ProCal stuff.
thanks again for sharing.
How are you liking the Whipple IC after the time you had with it?Nice work up, I wish I had captured a before upgrade set of numbers, but the seat of pants metric has been great.

35k miles through some tough winter conditions and now 118 desert stuff, still churningHow are you liking the Whipple IC after the time you had with it?
the shutter system is just there to properly cool and warm up your temps depending on the weather. Shutters close when it's cold outside to warm up the engine quickerAfter running this awhile have you seen any negative effects?
Any issues in rain/wet conditions? Particularly any water crossings you may do? I’m not sure all the intricacies on the shutter system but thought it may have a moisture sensor to close up in wet conditions.
Thank you for confirming this, much appreciated.the shutter system is just there to properly cool and warm up your temps depending on the weather. Shutters close when it's cold outside to warm up the engine quicker
My understanding is the shutters are used for fuel economy - e.g., eco mode. They shut to create better aerodynamics.the shutter system is just there to properly cool and warm up your temps depending on the weather. Shutters close when it's cold outside to warm up the engine quicker
It may help with that a very small amount, but its main purpose is to manage charge air temps. My understanding is the shutters are used for fuel economy - e.g., eco mode. They shut to create better aerodynamics.
Why do all tabloids say ford added them for mpgs then? I personally take them off because it makes a pretty drastic difference while towing in the summer. And I've never even noticed a dif on mpgs. Temps def run alot lower with them unplugged while open or removed. It may help with that a very small amount, but its main purpose is to manage charge air temps.
Well there are 2 different shutters, so they may be talking about the other ones. Why do all tabloids say ford added them for mpgs then?
