Higher pressure usually means you gain mpg but lose ride quality

'23 Sasquatch V6 4dr., I keep mine at 40 cold all around, ride is fine, gas mileage in the high 18's on average and the stock Territory MT's are wearing beautifully despite never rotating them (27k miles) Keep in mind air pressure determines load capacity, if you're packed up with a full load and maybe have a winch on the front you'll want to be at the high end to make sure the tire stay's cool at highway speeds.

So when I got my bronco a month or more ago, the tires were at 48-50psi. Which I remember as it was an absolutely insane psi.

Later. I aired down to 22 for some trails. I reaired to 43 before I got towed back to ford because of a fuel pump failure.

I asked them to complete the air up before I picked up my bronco. They said it was within spec.

So I look at the sticker in the door and it says 39, so technically I am still too high in psi.

The drive feel was very different at the high psi as you can imagine.

What psi do you use on the road? Clearly these tires do not seem to care how much air is in them. Want a good ride and gas mileage. I got 19mpg coming home from the dealer on the freeway, going over one mountain range and up another to where I live.

I seem to get closer to 15mpg with the lower pressure

I have a 2023 Badlands 2 door Sasquatch and I have kept my tire pressure at 39 and I have 40,000 miles with still a lot of tread left.

the chalk says 28 for my 37s… I ran them higher (35-39) on the highway but didn’t really see a difference in mpg so am running at 32 now as a compromise…tires seem to be wearing fine but I don’t do a lot of miles on the thing so they will likely age out before wearing out…sorry I am no help…the sticker is about mileage not wear or ride…you do you

Anyone feel more vibration in steering while running high pressure (39+). Got a 2025 Sas that ive had three of four tires defected out but the forth one even while showing 16 road force still seems to shimmy. My 23 never did this in 50k miles. Gonna try going to 35 to se if it helps.

Tire pressure is vehicle weight and tire size dependent. There is no such thing as a one size fits all psi. Use a chart if you don’t understand how to find correct psi for YOUR weight and YOUR tire size.

My 2 door Big Bend came from the dealer with 39. When I had the big bend wheels swapped out for some badlands takeoffs I bought, the shop filled them to 32.

Why are you guys trying to reinvent the wheel? The recommended psi is on the inside of the drivers door jam. I mean unless you're off-roading then yeah change your PSI but highway use why ask or question? I get 80,000 mi out of my BF Goodrich using their cold highway PSI settings

For OEM tires, I try to keep them the PSI on the door jamb. Usually better MPG with higher pressure.

Though all of this info might be more helpful if everyone mentioned which tires they are running. SAS will be different than the 32" tires on an OBX, Badlands 33", etc.

Will experiment when I get aftermarket tires. I'm hoping to stick with the OEM SAS size to keep the speedometer accurate.

My Bronco rides so much better at 30psi than at 39psi. Even my wife can feel the difference and she doesn't know anything about this stuff. On highways and smooth roads 39psi might be fine, but on the crappy ass back country roads that I live off of, 30 is much more comfortable. I'm not looking to get 80k miles on my tires to hate most of them when I can get 25k miles with a smile on my face. You also have a Raptor, which is not apples to apples with a normal Bronco.

Stock SAS tires, i ran 36psi cold for daily driving, and id go to 20psi on the trails. My Micky Thompson a/t i still runs 36psi but go to 15-18psi on the trails
