I went from a TDI wagen to the GTI due to dieselgate. If VW promised me a Golf R Sportwagen tomorrow I'd cancel my Bronco in a heart beat. Yes, I'm that weird guy that cross shops a hot hatch with a Bronco.

I'd buy a classic Bronco. There's a guy that has several beautifully restored ones in Hermosa Beach (and a Harvester) that I would have to inquire about. The whole point for me is to get a Bronco. I love the iconic lines / looks of them. If i wanted to get a regular 4x4 rock crawler, I would have bought a jeep years ago.

Yet another option I considered. There's a shop near me that restores and sells vintage LR Defenders. Problem is I need a daily driver, and I like new tech, so that consideration didn't last long.

If the Bronco wasn't announced last year, I would probably have a new Rubicon already. Fortunately this is not all a dream because I would be stuck with that Rubicon.
