I have no problems with the long antennas, but I removed mine from my Jeep because if it got caught on things it would swing back and tear up the paint on my hard top leaving white chips. I bought the jeep with tons of them on the passenger side and didn't know how they got there until I went through my first car wash. After that I removed it before going in until I replaced it with a stubby.
