Amazon kits are ABS plastic with a Carbon Fiber print. Need the real stuff. But I appreciate you posting a reply to my question.

Their carbon is real but the raw finish is textured weave and the gloss one is domed so it has this thick gel over it so I opted out.

You can buy a twill weeve CF from Taps plastic and do your own layup. Since some of this is structural you don't exactly need to pull suction and you can use cardboard lined with foil and a heat gun for curing.
