Is there a benefit to using the vehicle's cellular connection over just letting them use your cell phone as a hot spot? I think I pay $10/month to allow using my phone as a hot spot.
The antenna for the vehicle modem is bigger than your phone antenna and will (in theory) allow for better connectivity in areas of spotty coverage. And depending on your carrier, you may have limits on your hot-spot monthly quota which the kids can burn up pretty quickly.
Other than that, there isn't much benefit.

You guys are all so behind....XFinity has 10G

Also - for those of you who were complaining about being locked to AT&T - don't give Ford any ideas. Remember that all of our vehicles can do stuff for free today like remote lock/unlock, location tracking, error-code alerting, firmware/nav updates etc. (with the Ford Pass app)...that because Ford pays AT&T to make all the vehicles do some basic connectivity stuff.
I'd hate for Ford to decide to make that a customer-uplift opportunity by letting us add another SIM. I am 100% sure the price of the vehicle would not go down in return.
