I think painted would be more durable. Would be interesting to wrap though.

i was thinking about wrapping the hardtop- i was worried the vinyl wouldn't adhere properly due to the compostion/texture of the hardtop but the video seems like it works

My vinyl guy doesnt want to do it cause he doesnt feel like it will last long term. Several people have done them with successful results but only time will tell how it lasts. I really want to wrap mine cause Im afraid Ill change my mind and paint is permanent.

Hey @BudgetBronco , How long has your wrap been on and how is it holding up? Thanks! Looking to my own soon since I've done some parts and hood wraps in the past. Just curious how yours is holding up since install. Thanks!

Wrap has been on for a year and a half. On most sufaces it looks as good as the day I installed it, but on some of the ridges I am having bubbles form. I think this is largely due to my installation methods, given my first time applying wrap and I did not know best techniques for uneven surfaces. Check out the video linked here, I show some views of the wrap after one year.

Coming here to tell you that your post helped me make the decision to wrap my hardtop! I used the 3M vinyl and think I did alright for my first ever attempt at wrapping. It’s not perfect but I love the results!
