21 / 22 Bronco Production Dates
Wayne, Michigan, April 1, 2021 – A worldwide review of all Ford production facilities has just been completed to determine the impacts of the global semiconductor shortage on all Ford products. Included in the review of all semiconductor storage areas at each facility. It was determined that the Michigan Assembly Plant semiconductor storage infrastructure has cross contamination between the ventilation, air and plumbing systems that will not only affect the semiconductor storage areas but plantwide employee safety as well.
Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, the Michigan Assembly Plant will need to be shut down for cleaning and sanitation of these systems. It will take approximately six months to complete this work, therefore no further 2021 Bronco models will be produced. Once the facility has been deemed safe for employees to return, production will resume with the 2022 Bronco models.
