Is this a beauty cover (it is cool looking)? I'm more concerned with hitting the bottom of the rear diff, not the back side. It doesn't look like it provides any protection along the bottom where the seal is, unless I'm not seeing it correctly.
It gives strength to the housing limiting flex & deflection in turn helping protect the & R & P under load.

@Bigguyry2000 thanks for the notes, getting ready to install mine this week 🤠

What gasket did you use with the ARB cover? Does it come with one or do you just reuse the OEM?

Wow. Loving the idea of those padded clamps. I added a few washers on the stud bolts, but running the risk that there’s not enough thread engagement.

No gasket provided. The stock gasket is a reusable gasket if not damaged. I'll try that first, any issue & I'll pull out the RTV 🤠

Well got mine installed. No issues with hardware. Again thanks to @Bigguyry2000 for the Adele clamp idea. Disconnected track bar at the passenger side. Had to cut the sheathing on the brake line for the 1/4" Adele clamps to fit & drill out the bolt hole on the clamps. Probably would have gone 3/8" if I did it again, but it's altogether now.

Felix, since you used that casserole pan, don’t you go trying to fry fish in that grease now!

Don’t mess around and carry that pan in the house or it get used to cook dinner! :ROFLMAO:

I know better that that ;)

TBH, I had just changed the fluid right before as in zero miles and had planed to just reuse it, but didn't like what flushed out with it, so now I'm waiting on Walmart to deliver tomorrow :sneaky:

Oil is cheap in comparison to bearings and the labor to install them 🤠

Are you saying 3/8" clamps would work better instead of 1/4"? Is that so you would not have to cut the sheating to fit the clamp over it?

I have an ARB diff cover on the way and want to make sure I have everything I need on hand to make the swap.

I just installed the ARB and I too used two 3/8-inch insulated clamps. Cover hardware is included and mates perfectly with the OEM gasket.

No added rear protection. But I’m not overly concerned with that. These housings are pretty stout honestly. 99% of it for me is ease of maintenance down the line. I don’t like pulling gaskets that don’t leak. In my experience, the only time things leak is when you start ripping out factory sealed components. Well, aside from stuff like axle seals and main seals that see a lot of rotational wear… oh and aside from my Harley, those just leak whenever. But if I can keep a gasket on that won’t leak, I’d rather futz with a drain plug that has an o ring for which there is very easy replacement
