I have a reservation and an order, but with all the talk about allocation, etc. reached out to another dealership. The sales rep told me Ford was no longer accepting orders without a reservation. Was he getting it confused with no more reservations? I am assuming so.

Yes you can order without reservation..that's the only way you can order now.

Yup, you can order without a reservation.

Many dealers have stopped accepting orders without reservations for various reasons. The most common reason is simply because they know based on their allocation numbers that you will get pushed to 2023. Really no point in submitting a 2022 order when they know it'll get eventually canceled come October and you will have to resubmit for 2023.

Yes. I went to a dealer with allocation and placed an order 12/13/21. I have a VIN and scheduled for 2/14/22. If you can find a dealer that has allocation and if there is not anyone in front of you with a “buildable” order you can get it in a decent timeframe. Many just do not want to budge from their build specs that include parts that are not available. That is one of the primary reasons some may be waiting. That or ordering from a dealer that sold 100 and is only getting 10 per month, etc

I just placed an order yesterday without a prior reservation. This wasn’t a problem with the Mach E either. In fact, if you read the Mach E forum, it’s a hot topic because reservation (even date of reservation) had no impact on ultimate delivery timing.

Yes you can order without reservation..that's the only way you can order now.

4th dealership I've contacted in Georgia today telling me that Ford is not allowing orders without reservations. This one being the 2nd largest volume dealer in the state.
