The day after I make my world-famous chili, I also notice a strong smell coming from my heated seats.

Obviously, smell is much stronger on highest setting

Seriously tho.. has something been spilled on the seat? Had a customer car in not long ago with an odor and we ended up finding out she spilled starbucks on the passenger seat. That milk/cream soured and when the seat heater was on it cooked it and was awful.

No, truck is new and nothing was ever spilled. That awful stench is coming from both seats, driver and passengers.

Probably off gassing, or you are cooking a rat under there.
Either is chemical or organic smelling, that'll tell you which. Id say crank up the heat and burn whatever it is off

Update: So it turns out I will need new seat!!! Passengers side seat is melting from the inside and it gets extremely hot, some of the cushion is no longer there.I noticed awful smell coming from my seats when the heat is on. I was wondering if I'm the only one

Yikes - Glad they figured it out and it's covered under warranty.
These heated seats get VERY warm, which is great. Clearly we don't need them that warm though. Glad it all worked out and they caught it now vs. further down the road.
It was a cold morning and I was going on base and I ripped one off that was so nasty smelling my eyes were watering and I wasn’t sure I didn’t shit myself. Well it was cold and I had the seat warmers on and the windows closed. Well I pulled up to the gate guard and opened my window. He leaned in to take my ID, and I saw all the color rush out of his face and he was doing little dry heaves.
So these seat warmers will always have my glowing endorsement.
