Nothing wrong with mall crawling and doing light trails, or trying camping or just doing more of it, great to hear you'll be willing to take in into some dirt.

Thing is about off roading, you don't build for the usual stuff you do, you build for the worst you'll possibly ever face. If you don't, you'll get stuck and a recovery is expensive unless you wheel with guys who have gear. If you break something on a trail, that's an expensive recovery. Investments up front, save on the backend.

Think of a winch. You may never use it, but if you ever needed to and didn't have it, you're screwed. Plus, you can use it to help other people.

The 33s are indeed a lot of tire. In Australia and Africa, you'll rarely see anything larger than 33, bigger is Merica!

The 2.3 is a good engine, particularly with the turbo. It'll actually be more than most people need and has the power to pull the Bronco through the trail with ease.
Worst I do is dirt farm roads and trails while hunting. And yet I have challenging rock climbing and off road trails within an hour of me in NW GA that people come from all over the country to try. It's just not my thing.

I agree, a winch is never a bad idea. Have had my F-250 stuck in a wet ag field a couple of times and had to be pulled out. Once with a tractor. No fun.

I'm interested in seeing if Ford offers the tune on the 2.3 for the Bronco as they evidently do on the Ranger. Kicking the 2.3 up over 300hp greatly intrigues me.

its on the spec pdf sheet for that one. Requires 2.7L engine and 10-speed automatic transmission
The Sasqutch will be offered in both 2.3 and 2.7 engines, as long as you get the auto transmission.

I would put money on Ford offering that similar power package for the 2.3 so depending on the upgrade cost to the 2.7 will determine if I just stay 2.3 and use the money for other options.

From everything I can see (limited from Ford at this early stage), the BL comes with everything the Sasquatch package has minus the 35" tire. Therefore, you can have it (almost) all with adding aftermarket tires. Just need to convince Ford to add the V6 manual option.

Sasquatch also gives "high clearance suspension" separate from the HOSS. Also high clearance fender flares.

The new twist though it seems you most likely can get a 2" lift option (high lift) separate to accommodate 35+ as an add on. I think there is going to be some interesting building depending on model/packages. The fender flares dont seem to be that big of a selling point as the Bronco has easy removable ones anyways and the aftermarket for those are going to be huge.

Badlands has the suspension w/Bilstiens just like the Sasquatch.... I think the majority of us see it that way also. Just need the wheels and tires.

Which is why I am really excited about the Badlands without the Sasquatch.

If I like the way it looks with 35s, then easy day.

If I find the 2” looks that dam good on 37s, then I didn’t waste too much money!

the A10 has these additional options you dont get on the MT.

Trail Control™, Trail Turn Assist, Trail One-Pedal Driving
True but that stuff isn’t needed

The numbers that someone on here analyzed, taking the tires into account, seem to indicate that the lift is a little bit more on the Sasquatch package compared to the Badlands alone (.6" v. 1.2"). Same shocks, so maybe a different spring or a spacer to get a little more for 35s, but they don't appear to be the same lift.

Agreed. So we'll see if a Badlands without Sasquatch can fit 35's without any kind of lift.

You're in Alaska, which is hilly to say the least and rocky, then add snow = off road heaven! Jokes aside, you also want the gearing upgrade that comes with Sasquatch along with the other upgrades.
The 7MT's crawl gear already has a final drive ratio of 4.7:1. Sasquatch upgrades the final drive ratio of the 10R80 auto to 4.7:1.

The vast majority of the stuff on the Badlands package is also part of Sasquatch.

From what I can tell, here's what you're really "giving up" by sticking with the 7MT on the Badlands:

1. Beadlock capable rims from the factory.
2. 35" tires from the factory (comes with 33" tires instead).
3. Maybe the high-clearance fender flares.

From what I can tell, everything else that comes with the Sasquatch (locking diffs, HOSS + Bilsteins, 4.7:1 final drive ratio) is standard equipment on the Badlands with the manual transmission.

Oh, one more thing:

4. Ability to upgrade to the 2.7L V-6 (Nothing to do with Sasquatch, but it's auto only, regardless of trim, so you do give that up by running the 7MT).

Seems like a guy could go with the Badlands, add beadlock capable rims if he needed them, buy some high-clearance flares from the aftermarket, and drive on the 33s until they're worn out. When it's time to replace them, go with 35s, and you've got Sasquatch (or maybe Sasquatch minus beadlocks if you don't need/want them) with a manual transmission.

I read the Sasquatch would give an extra 1.2" front and 1" rear to the Badlands. I think if the release the 7MT for the Squatch, it will only be offered the the 2.3.

If Sasquatch provides a 1.2" lift that means the Cyber Orange 2-door on 37s everyone is going crazy over only adds .8" more lift? I was thinking about adding the "factory installed" 2" lift and keeping 35s, but is .8" worth the extra cost if keeping 35s? .8" does not sound like enough to make a difference to me, but I am not knowledge in such topics.

Any thoughts from the experienced?
