Base model factory wheels 285 75r16 no lift.

New tires finally installed! 285/75r16 ironman mt.. always been a huge fan of these tires. Cheap, durable, excellent in mud and snow. Anyway picked up a set today and installed them on my otherwise 100% stock base bronco. The 33's with the manual transmission and 4.46 gears are a match made in heaven. Anyone considering a similar setup, do it! Thanks for checking em out!!!

Correct and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that in this size! Never worry about flats and still maintain a factory ride quality. ***Ride quality did not change at all from the tiny factory base tires*** If the tire were say 12.5" wide and aired at 50 psi you're gonna feel it. 36psi is perfect in this size and load e.

Is the rim wide enough for 285?
I went to 17” rims with 285/70/17 tires. Them sold 4 of the 30” tires for $300. Now, what to do the the steel rims?

I believe the rim is 7" and they recommend a 7.5" wide rim but honestly I'm not even slightly worried about it. It looks safe and the tire shop didn't question it at all. Idk since they're steelies if anyone would want them or not, plus with shipping I don't see how you'd come out ahead unless you found a local.. I almost got different wheels, was real close, but decided I really love the simplistic utilitarian classic look of the steelies, for now haha. After these tires I'm sure I'll switch the look up!!
