That's not a strong thing either and should be considered only for winching and not kinetic work.
I don't have a kinetic rope, so no problem. I have a 20-foot tow rope and two soft shackles and have watched enough off road rescue videos to know that you don't do any jerking at all with what I have.

As with the chains that I have for my Escape, I'm hoping to never have to use the tow rope either.

I got the new tow hook today from the Ford dealer and installed it. Paid for with Ford Pass Point, so I consider it the same as being free.

I asked the parts guy what the bolts should be torqued to and he had a hard time finding that value. One place indicated 35 foot-pounds and another 55. I figured I would see what it took to loosen the bolt and it was right around 55, so that's what I used to tighten it back up. I hope it wasn't a mistake to use red Loctite on it, since that's all I had. Looks like the old bolts had blue.

Anyway, I now have two tow hooks both front and rear.

Ideally I'll never use them, but if the need arises I have them.
