I am looking to purchase a 2023 Wildtrak and the one I am looking at has black bead lock rings. Can you swap the rings? I like the silver ones that you see on most broncos with Sasquatch.

or look to swap your rings with someone who has the silver. you'll likely find locals in your area who may want to swap.

Are they beauty rings or functional bead lock rings?

If you plan on wheeling pick up a set of the Ford Performance true beadlocks. Ford did a really good job on them. They don't leak and only a couple needed retorqued with 5000 miles on them. Bonus-now you have the silver ring you were looking for!

OP, welcome to the forum. They’re faux beadlock rings and easy to pull off and paint if scraped up by wheeling or to change the color. I’ve posted these pics before, but they’ll give you an idea of what I mean. If you look closely at my avatar pic, I’m in the process of scraping both passenger side rings.

I've placed this link here a hundred times on other threads. Great video you should watch before messing with your beauty rings.

3 days into ownership, and yep, don't like the silver beadlock rings.... too much contrast. I'm thinking of going with a charcoal powder coat, instead of black, for a more subtle contrast. Anybody do something similar I can visualize? Also, is it OK to drive without the rings installed?

A member of this forum named Rick Astley once drove his Bronco without the beauty rings installed. No one has seen him since.

So if you don’t want to get abducted by a UFO and forced to undergo hideous medical experimentation like he was, I suggest leaving the beauty rings installed.

If you have beadlocks yes there is an issue. If you have the stock DOT legal beauty rings, then no. They sell replacements in a multitude of colors, or you can paint them.

I guess technically the beadlocks could just be used as really expensive beauty rings, no? Tire could still be mounted on the standard bead
True true🙃

Has anyone figured out any application patterns for the all black wheels, vs the uncoated rim face on others? I'm hoping when I take my rings off, the wheels will be black, and I'll just put shorter screws in & call it a day.....
