I suggest anyone who has not driven the 2.3, go test drive an Exploder or Ranger....just saying. You may like it, you may not.

I had a rental for a week of a 2.3 with the 10A, it was acceptable but uninspiring, IMO.

I've been in this camp for pricing and know I can get a fully loaded 2 door Black Diamond under $45k (with the 2.7, etc.) Does not include any 'squatch to keep it budget or also aftermarket easily added items such as the winch. I opted for no roof rails (even though super cheap) as I didn't want it over the front top. This is still in the lead for me. Opting for steelies.

$45k has been my ceiling for a 2-door, problem is that pretty much no matter how I build whatever trim they're all pretty close to each other (these are using the Stephens/Granger $1k under invoice prices):

BB w/squatch, mid, v6, bumper, lights, RR's, bumper, switches is 43784
BD w/squatch, mid, v6 is 43667
BL w/2.3 and manual, mid, optional wheels is 43681
BL w/2.3 and manual, high, optional wheels is 44899
BL w/V6, mid, optional wheels is 45462
BL w/V6, high, optional wheels is 46680 (the only one that goes over my set price)

The thing is all of these are basically the same truck with mainly minor detail separating them, all of them will work and are more than I'll ever need ... anyrate, good luck!

Agreed...and cant decide, then I realized I want the BB front bumper with MGV seats and a carpeted floor to reduce the road noise....so I am going BB and will wait for a salvage yard to get the MGV seats.

But tomorrow, I will change my mind. LOL

4 Dr. I've played around doing build a lot. Just curious as to what other people think is the sweet spot at this price point.
Well, I would say that at an invoice price of a bit over $45k....the best deal out there by far is a Black Diamond 4dr; Sasquatch; Mid pkg; 27l. That MSRPs out to $48k, so a little bit of a stretch, but if you can get invoice or below, its a phenomenal build and price point.

My budget is the same, i'm considering a fairly loaded out Big Bend, or a stock Badlands.
Both 2 door, both with V6 auto.

All are 4 Door and auto with soft top and finance at 2.9% First column is price next is down payment (equals ~ 20%) and last is monthly payment. Also if not Squatch'd, E-Locker where available. 4A is the advanced t-case. Also, if not listed its the standard package.
So out of this list....my best $45K build would be, I think:

BB with 2.3 and Auto, 4.27 E-Locker, Aux Switches, Floor Liners, Fender Flaps and tow package. Plenty of motor to turn the 32's with the gearing upgrade. Enough tire to do what I need/want (at least for now). That puts me just shy of $41K. This way I don't feel bad about get new tires and wheels right away. I could opt for the 2.7 for like $300 more, but don't think I really need it.

Or Base with 2.7, Aux Switches, Floor Liners and Fender Flaps for just over $37K and modify as my needs change/grow. Want the 2.7 to make up for the 3.73 gearing and likely eventual upgrade to slightly taller tires (probably 255/75R17).

That is a nice build. If only the black diamond had the signature lighting!! Not a deal breaker, but irritating to me.

Keyless entry pad

On the fence on the tow package, looks like not much for $500. Just for a rear recovery point and maybe a bikerack/hitch hauler type stuff so I don't care about lights.

4 door Sasquatch V6 Base or BB.
2 door Sasquatch V6 BB or BD

Or just play around with the B&P yourself. It shows you the prices.

Well for a 4 door, for $45k, I’d go Big Bend, Sasquatch, Mid Pkg for $44,660. Easy decision really.

im sticking with the soft top becuz I like it so much and don’t need or want a hardtop.

I was trying to stick to $45k, but I’m going over budget and getting a Black Diamond cuz I like the interior so much, and might do the V6 and end up closer to $49k
