Hey guys....bumping our dedicated BD thread up....so, I took delivery last Friday......I am loving it so far...today I replaced my general grabbers with 285/70/17 K02's......love them. Love the white lettering.....I think they make the non SAS BD look perfect.

Hi Tarheel
Love your green! I just ordered the same rubber for my BD, but using Method wheels with more poke, so also switching to squatch flares.

My question to you, did you have to shave off from the spare tire bump/stopper to get 285s to fit on the spare carrier?

Ha, so I actually showed the tire shop a post from this forum about having maybe trim off like 3/8 of an inch from that bumper stop, and to call me if that was needed.

No call, they got it mounted. But if I stare at it closely I can see a very very very slight angle. So, I'm gonna take it off later and trim a little off. Just to satisfy my ocd.

Is that 3 weights on there? Jeez. I heard K02 were a bitch to balance…but…

I’m seeking out black weights. They drive me nuts.

So, with 285/75 I’m going to have an issue with bump stopper? Are there different part numbers per wheel/tire combo on other trims?

What causes the need for weights on some wheels and not others?

so on my set up, it’s 3 on the back passenger side and 2 on the spare.

none on any others.

And yea, you’ll have to trim that bump stop with that tire. Not sure on part numbers.

what do you mean for more roll resistance?
you can have two identical vehicles, same total overall weight, engine, everything except the wheels where one vehicle will have wider or more aggressive tread - that will be the roll resistance caused by that extra width/tread.

one will have the better MPG because of that and will handle a bit different as well

The wait begins. I was all about Basemansquatch but was hesitant on the cloth seats. Katskinz would probably be about $2k all said and done and not be marine grade vinyl and still not have wash out floor so the BD is less than $4k more than the basemanSquatch with Katskinz. I went for it.

So, the winter and snow is vanishing to spring temps, so I mounted my Method wheels (305 NV Bronze with zero offset) and new BFG K02 285/70/17 with E load rating to get the extra sidewall strength. Then I swapped out regular flares for squatch flares. I think it looks really good, tire fling is inside the flares, the stance is beautiful and most important, it rides like a dream. Could not be more pleased!
