So how's the install look?
It is something we still have to do, the installation is very simple there is a good amount of room in the engine bay and both the IM and TB Spacers fit perfectly with no issues.Do you have coming installation instructions specifically for the Bronco 2.3?
The gains would actually be even greater with any other tune than the OEM one. This was with 100% bone stock vehicle, no intake or bolts parts. We wanted to get the most accurate results without any other mods skewing our numbers.Would you expect similar results with the Ford Performance tune already installed?
Installation isn't bad at all, the engine bay is also designed to hold the V6 option so there is a good amount of room to get the IM removed.
100% stock intake and stock vehicle. Quality bolt-ons mods should have a positive effect and help increase the numbers even higher. Was this with stock intake? Would a bigger intake have a negative effect on this or is it only potential regardless of other mods?
Ford really underrated these 2.3 engines, they make really great power and the low end torque makes it extremely easy to drive manual (especially in traffic). We did tons of baseline pulls before throwing on the parts to make sure the numbers we got were consistent. This relates back to the old days when you would swap intake manifolds. Lengthening the intake runners adds low power torque and shifts the power band lower into the rpms. With the 2.3 being such a low rpm engine it looks like the shift doesn't hurt the top end on the dyno. Typically mods like this do not add power overall. Very happy someone spent the time to see if it worked.
So you are saying if I had the FP tune, this spacer would not be worth it?The gains would actually be even greater with any other tune than the OEM one. I believe they tested this with the stock tune and are stating that any performance tune, including Ford's, will be even better. So you are saying if I had the FP tune, this spacer would not be worth it?
But read the first sentence. “The gains would be even greater with any other tune Than the OEM one.I believe they tested this with the stock tune and are stating that any performance tune, including Ford's, will be even better.
