Didn't think I'd say this, but this is the nail in the coffin for me. I'm going to wait it out until broncos are plentiful and possibly green.

Ironic the Ford uses COVID as an excuse for all their flub ups.. but wait till their customers try and us it and see how quick they are kicked to the curb.
Is it really an excuse when its literally whats held back the bronco since the unveiling?

Bronco Specialists & Dealer Principals,

We know customers are excited to get their new Bronco and we are committed to delivering a high-quality product as soon as we can. We are announcing soon a timing change driven by COVID 19 challenges that some of our suppliers are experiencing. The timing changes are listed below.

  • Order bank open will move from December to mid-January
  • Order conversion window will shift to mid-January through March
  • Initial 21MY dealer allocation forecasts will now be provided in early January (ahead of the order bank open).
  • Manual transmission with Sasquatch package is now planned to be introduced late next year as a 22MY option
  • Customer deliveries will begin in Summer 2021

In addition to these timing changes the team continues to actively listen to customer requests and as a result we will offer a new black interior to First Edition customers (more details to follow).

To thank our Bronco reservation holders for their patience we have created a customer appreciation program which will provide FordPass Rewards points for use towards the purchase of Bronco accessories.

A customer communication with these timing changes and details about the FordPass Rewards offer will be forthcoming, however we wanted to ensure you were aware of these changes first.

If you have any questions, please email @Ford.com or contact your Ford Regional Management Team.

Sincerely,

The Ford Bronco Team

FAQs

Is the 2021 Bronco two-and four-door launch delayed into Summer? What happened to “Spring 2021”?
Yes, given the COVID-19 pandemic, customer deliveries of the new Bronco will now begin next summer.

I thought the order bank was opening in December. Now I understand it’s mid-January, meaning customer orders will be even later. Why the delay? And will it delay vehicle deliveries?
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, Bronco ordering will now start in mid-January, with customer deliveries now starting next summer.

I understand from supplier communications with Ford that the Bronco two-door and four-door models are delayed 6 more weeks. Can you confirm if it’s a development or supplier issue?
This is tied to a supplier issue. COVID has had a significant effect on a number of Bronco suppliers, which we are not naming.

What can customers who have placed a reservation expect next? And what does the Bronco overall timeline look like?
  1. Customer placed reservation (since July 13)
  2. Customer uses Ford.com Build & Price tool to spec their dream Bronco (since October 23)
  3. Customer finalizes dealer selection by March 19, 2021
  4. Customer places order and agree to selling price with dealer between mid-January through March 19, 2021. Note: Bronco will not have online order conversions and will require dealers to place order
  5. Ford receives all orders nationally and begins to forecast a production schedule against key product content and features (commodities) – Q2 2021
  6. Customer receives dealer delivery window in May 2021
  7. First customer deliveries now begin in Summer 2021

Will orders be built in the order that reservations were received? Reservations will be fulfilled in approximately the same order received, based on final ordering and production of similarly configured Broncos. Due to the high number of Bronco two-door and four-door reservations, deliveries will extend into the 2022 calendar year.

What happens if customer order are not built in 21MY? Due to the high number of Bronco 2- and 4-door reservations, deliveries may extend into the 2022 calendar year. We anticipate some customers will receive a 22MY Bronco. In this scenario, customers will work with their dealer to replace their 21MY order but will have access to any product improvements for 22MY. Their reservation timestamp will remain with their order.

Is anything being done to research and implement an increase in production? Due to exceedingly high demand, we will consistently explore and review production options.

Has the delay to Summer 2021 enabled the late-availability Sasquatch package and manual transmission configuration to catch up? Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the entire Bronco production launch schedule shifted, now pushing the manual transmission Bronco models with available Sasquatch package into 2022 model year.

Is Navy Pier interior option still available for Bronco 2- and 4-door First Edition? Yes. The all black interior is an incremental option. Navy Pier is still available.
Another month to fester over my build and change it ?

I have a account with a credit union but I thought I had to qualify through Ford and the dealership. I guess I was misinformed?
Of the two dozen cars I have purchased, I have purchased 8 brand new at dealerships.

Why? Because I am good at this, and I research obsessively before I buy.

The one thing a lot of people forget to research is the loan, and the loan can make or break your purchase.

Here are the steps to buying a car:

Figure out what you can afford.

Start with your credit score, you can get it easy these days. Then, google to see if that credit score is good or not. If it is over 750 you can get whatever the advertised rate is, no problem. Lower than that and your rate may or may not go up. Lower than 600 and you probably can't get loan on a brand new car. No credit? No problem, but the rate is going to be high and the asks are going to be weird. (Like, they want to call your landlord or something).

Now you have an idea of your rate. (Looks right now) Navy Federal has 2.19 for 60 months! you still can't figure out your payment. You need to know how your state does taxes and fees, and your tradein information. This is hard to do considering you will not trade in for six months, i know, but give it a shot.

Go to KBB and get your trade's current TRADE IN VALUE not any other value, Trade-in. Trade-in often = wholesale. You could take it to Carmax as well. Carmax is a great thing for trade ins. Carmax will give you a baseline value, hand you a certificate for that value, and any dealer will beat that offer by at least $250.

Then, try and figure out what you will owe on your trade come delivery. I've done some tough math on my trade for this, debating on selling it or trading it. I am going to trade it, and next will tell you why.

My state charges tax on the amount after trade. If you are trading in a $10,000 car on a $30,000 Bronco, Maryland only taxes the difference, or $20,000. For me, My trade is going to be worth about $3000 in taxes. Since that's about the difference between me selling it and trading it, I am going to save the hassle.

Now for some math. I like to do worst case scenario.

MSRP of target car: $50,000
Trade Value: $35,000
Taxable Amount: $15,000 at 6% MD Tax. = $900

I am rounding this for easy peasyness.

So, if I buy a car for $50,000 at 2.19% x 60, and put no money down, even on my trade, I have to finance $50900. It's $896/month.

Ouch. But i have that loan calculator out, and the banks website up. They offer 4.69% for 84 months, that drops it to $712 a month. is it worth it? That's debatable, if you plan on trading or put on a lot of miles, don't get a lengthy loan to afford more car. You will be upside down on your loan forever.

To sum, here are the steps.

1: Know your credit.
2: Know your trade.
3: Know your state fees and Taxes.
4: Know bank rates and loan terms.
5: Understand what your credit can and can't do.
6: use some math to determine the amount you are going to finance then send it through the loan calculator to see if you can afford it.

And most important of all, don't lie to yourself. Don't over value your trade, don't expect to order a $50,000 Bronco and have the dealership sell it to you for $40,000. Order what you can afford, based on the deal you know you can get. If you get it lower, bonus!

Supplement your loan with money down if you want, but I suggest only in larger sums. $1000 down isn't going to effect a 60month loan payment all that much.

Also: Ford's B&P is assuming 10% down, but quoting a 6% rate. If you get the 2% rate, you can get the same payment with no money down.

Well I disagree. Has Covid had an effect... absolutely. However there have been delays after delays on everyrhing from Reveal night on. There have been countless errors from literature to Pdf documents, to the B&P.

There lines of communication to the dealers and reserve holders has been abysmal.

Sorry, but no way that COVID is the sole reason (hell, imo not even the major reason) for this mess.

Problems were evident long before any of us even heard of Wuhan. Hell, they wasted a year in Australia (2018??) developing the Wrong Bronco. To me, appears to be under resourced effort. Might stem from financial difficulties or management inertia; who knows. Then Covid came along and exacerbated the situation.

Businesses usually resource & manage individual revenue lines differently. Easy to see 150s are the cash cow.

The good. Received an email yesterday from Bob Utter Ford located in Sherman,TX. They explained everything about the delay, and thanked me for my reservation.
The bad. I don't have a reservation with them. Made sure my dealer here in Daytona Beach has mine. They do. Well, at least someone is sending out info to their reservation holders.(y)

I'm guessing you're under thirty or over seventy .

Just a guess. Those are the age groups that I have noticed want something for nothing. Extra points if you are over seventy, at least you have earned it. : )
Your wrong in every way. If you would read the article you would see Ford was considering doing this type of rewards program because of there screwups I do not give a damn either way. But in this case Fords roll out of the vehicle is like watching two monkeys fricking a basketball

I would be very interested to hear where you came up with this information.

Everyone, including me was under the impression that the new Bronco would be the next generation of Ford Everest that is Ranger based and already in the rest of the world. It would have matched up with the 4 runner nicely. Glad it didn't happen.

Yeah, yeah, I know. It's a world economy, blah, blah, blah. But BMW, aka, Big Money Waste. Is still headquartered in Munich Germany.
Isn't the Ford Bronce Sport made in Mexico? And I bet many of the parts including the MT on the Bronco are made elsewhere, not in the USA, and yes, it is a global economy!

I'd still rather buy an American made vehicle, from an American owned Company! Unfortunately it's virtually impossible to have a 100% American made vehicle in the "World Economy" of today. But at least I'll feel good about buying a vehicle that is primarily owned by Americans! And don't come back at me with that stock holder bullshit! Ford is still primarily an American owned Company, unlike the Italian owned FCA. If you want to justify giving your money to a foreign owned Company, because they employ Americans to work for them. That's fine.. It's still a free country. You buy what you want. And I'll buy what I want.

People with no real knowledge were guessing as to what it could/might/would be and posting it on the internet. Same as all the photoshops of F150 as as modern 2-door full size broncos. Those were all over the internet too, but that design was never under consideration.

Just because you saw it on the internet.........

Mostly I agree with you, but the reality is it is getting harder to find "Made in the USA" on anything more complicated than a tool. just make a list of everything in your home, 70% or better is made overseas, mainly in China. I would gladly pay 10% more for stuff made here, its just that either you can't find it or it is 25% more. So in the end you are giving your money to then whether you want to or not.

@JesseS I think we're on the same page? I agree with your latest post. Unfortunately, it is difficult to buy Made in the Good Ole U.S.A. products. And I would pay more for American made products as well. In my opinion, "We the People" as a Nation need to move away from foreign products, and foreign resource dependance. Look at what happened at the beginning of the Pandemic. We didn't have the necessary PPE, Medications, disinfecting products, etc. The U.S.A needs to be more self sufficient in times of crisis. It seems we've "painted ourselves into a corner" in many ways? We shouldn't try to save a few dollars, when the overall costs of buying foreign products puts the American People at a disadvantage. Americans should support America and the American Worker! Buy American! Not just American made products, but products that are made by American owned Companies with American Labor! God Bless The United States of America! ??
