I've always understood it as part of the LUX pkg.

The charging port is probably the only thing left of it.

I'll bet a nickel that Ford's legal team nixed it. Don't want to be sued for injury from random stuff attached there during accident. But it's a cool idea so perhaps aftermarket will provide.
I would bet that you are right.

I don't know why people think it comes with the Lux package. I think it's just not ready for release, like the sliding tailgate.
There's a sliding tailgate? Lol

Well, then that's another thing Ford screwed up on the vehicle launch.

The BYOD accessory bar was a feature they showed from day one.

Sucks.

Not sure the aftermarket will have a better rail, it is just a Picatinny setup. Comes as part of the lux pkg when addition ports are added to the dash.

At around 4:33 in the Bronco Nation video below (which is only a week old), the guy says "Since this isn't one of the higher interior packages, you don't have the power port up here (the dash) with the bring your own device rail."

So, it's still on someone's radar! lol. Could have sworn in that hour long live Q&A of this same Bronco, the Bronco Nation crew said it came with the lux package. But certainly am confused as no documentation in the ordering guide or B&P include such information.

Why do you think that? It's been shown on several Broncos without Lux.

I'm getting Lux and would love for that to be true, but I don't think it is.

I think what’s confusing people is that the power ports on the dash are only with the higher trims... but they are often talked about together in the same breath, so people take that to mean the rail is also (only) included in the higher levels.

Either way, I remember a Ford rep talking about how the threaded attachment point anchored to the dash was there... so whether or not Ford offers the rail, the aftermarket will be tripping over themselves to come up with something.

Maybe BYOD is a "Very Late Availability" item

Maybe it kidnapped by aliens.

All right, Beatrice, there was no alien. The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Ford Bronco Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Accesory Rail

I'm not so sure it is based on Picatinny design. This version seems to be a different approach. The aftermarket may well have something, it all depends on the mounting point on the dash - if it is present without the rail or if the dash plate is a blank.
